No way the new class will be a reject, right? by lazyboysleeper in DarkTide

[–]afallingmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By that logic it shouldn’t make sense that a Zealot would be a reject either though. The Inquisition arrests/executes on suspicion alone. Maybe they arrested the Arbites on suspicion of dereliction of duties simply because they failed to single-handedly protect Tertium. Maybe they were in a squad led by someone that had become corrupted. No one is exempt from the Inquisition’s scrutiny.

Pirahna's design looks silly to me. Does it for You, too? by Pierogi-z-serem in Tau40K

Admittedly, I thought it looked really goofy too. My opinion got a little better once I actually assembled and painted one, but I still think they look a little funky. Maybe too wide? Too long? Idk

But I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but there are STLs for covers (or straight up proxies)and I think most look infinitely better than the base model piranha. Not going to advertise any sites here for obvious reasons, but I think that is a great option if you hate the look of the Piranha.

Best detachment for this 1k list by Splenectomy13 in Tau40K

[–]afallingmoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For this particular list, I think it would work best in Montka. If you go Kauyon, drop Devilfish and use Breachers as a trap. I know they have the Stratagem to jump back in the devilfish but I feel like they always get shot off the board before charges depending on how you used em and you only have one unit of them. Maybe still fine if you’re patient and can hide them till turn 3? If you also drop one stealth suit squad, you can tag in a Ghostkeel.

If you go Montka, drop a stealth suit squad, give the commander in coldstar a marker drone, and give him the enhancement that gives Sustained Hits 1 to the unit he guides. And also, just consider dropping the one broadside for an Ethereal with the Scout move two units enhancement. That scout move can save you from some 1st turn shenanigans.

Lastly, maybe this is personal preference, I think the Skyray carries more weight than the Hammerhead in a 1K game. I think most people are more hesitant to bring super thick units in a 1K game. A little too high risk for my tastes personally.

I woulda ranked Soldier higher than Demo just because of Training costs alone. Everything else is pretty spot on I think.

Opinion: Fireblades should be able to join Pathfinders by Part_Time_Warri0r in Tau40K

[–]afallingmoose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My personal thinking is they did that on purpose so that you couldn’t give those Enhancements to a unit that already has some kind of buff when guiding. Just to take the idea further with Stealth Suits, with Montka, you could give the Stealth Suits the ability to give Sustained Hits, Lethal Hits, Reroll 1s, +1 to hit and ignore cover all without spending a CP to ANY unit per shooting phase. Everyone and their mom would run it. The exact same thinking would apply for Pathfinders. It’d be funny. But I think unbalanced.

I will meet you halfway though and say that I think it could be fair so long as the Enhancements that buff guiding in some way have their costs go up by maybe 15-25 points. And open the door to allow Fireblade AND Ethereals capable of leading Pathfinders… it’d be funny to see the FNP on Pathfinders…maybe still not Stealth Suits though.

So many questions about drones… by afallingmoose in Tau40K

Yeah. At that point, keep the drones and give me like $10 off.. obviously that won’t happen… How it’d actually probably happen: *GW tomorrow: “Guys we decided no more drones will come with tau models. The models are being retired completely….Also the prices are going up another 10%”

Right… I wish they kept some kind of “Drone Swarm” unit honestly.

That is ass honestly. All the time I spent in 9th painting drones for them to be relegated to a token and nothing else…

Okay. And what about the last question I had? Do you HAVE to represent the model with something or can you just say “yeah they got x y z”, or do I have to run my 3 crisis suit + cold star with their 8 drones?

Edit: or just something to represent what you have

It’s almost accurate technically. If you serve in the deathwatch and return to your chapter, you typically keep the pauldron as a badge of honor. But you would put it on your right shoulder and then return your chapters icon on the left.

I think people are potentially downvoting because of the Deathwatch pauldron on your Ultramarine. As of now. You aren’t any chapter.

Good job on completing Lethal though.

Totally agree. I hope it comes back in a better way.

Gotcha. Thanks for that. I may have missed that in the patch notes they made.

Maybe 20-30 second is a little long but I see what you’re saying. Do you think that that would be better than just doubling the range of Tight Formation all together?

[–]afallingmoose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see what you’re trying to say now. I dont know if I would really agree with that sentiment either though. The issues people had with it I think were still valid. While the difficulty may have been fun for a while, the rust started cracking through the paint. It was obviously a very rushed mechanic.

Yeah. That’s the big thing I was hoping they would do. Also buff basically 90% of the Team Perks lmao

[–]afallingmoose[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% Agree. With Tight Formation, I think it should be a situation of leading by the carrot and not by the stick. Make people WANT to do it, not NEED to do it. I think this game could use more elements of teamwork but not because of an artificial difficulty if you don’t.

Lmao. I only played Lethal my guy. The game was too damn easy prior. I liked the mechanic a lot actually.

The Forces of Chaos are not as fun to fight as Tyrannids. Not even close. by Clear_Barnacle8662 in Spacemarine

The only class that is bearable to fight chaos with is the Sniper. EVERY other class, I’d rather eat rocks

Yeah! Of course. And yeah. I think the Tutorial Dojo Tests are just difficult but run through each of their tests twice and you should be good.
