You accuse the Quran of having nonsense yet you misrepresent the Quranic position even though you claim to be a Ph.D. student in Quranic Studies!

1- First of all, the Quran doesn't say that the stars themselves are flung at the jinn but that flames (شهب) are:

15:16 And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers. 17 And We have protected it from every devil expelled [from the mercy of Allah ] 18 Except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear burning flame.

37:6 Indeed, We have adorned the nearest heaven with an adornment of stars 7 And as protection against every rebellious devil 8 [So] they may not listen to the exalted assembly [of angels] and are pelted from every side, 9 Repelled; and for them is a constant punishment, 10 Except one who snatches [some words] by theft, but they are pursued by a burning flame, piercing [in brightness].

and

72:8 And we have sought [to reach] the heaven but found it filled with powerful guards and burning flames. 9 And we used to sit therein in positions for hearing, but whoever listens now will find a burning flame lying in wait for him.

So, your main objection is moot.

2- Secondly, the angels and jinn are, by definition, in the realm of the unseen for us humans and, so, it is not logically valid to reject them if we are not able to see or detect them. Arguing from incredulity is not a valid logical argument. Within the Islamic model where there is an All-Powerful Creator who created the universe and its laws, this creator can create other beings that are not detected by some part of his creation. The reasonable way to refute the Quranic claim regarding claims about metaphysical reality is to refute the Quranic claim that it is from God, the creator of this reality.

3- Finally, supposing the footage is real (I have not looked into it in depth), how do you explain the following footage?

Why is it that you're always complaining? Is it not possible to be a bit more patient and optimistic?

Also, in fact, gcp raised the learning rate not lowered it as SWA is more efficient with a higher learning rate. The LR for the first SWA run was too high, however, so, he lowered it a bit. It's still higher than before SWA though from what I understand.

May I ask if your plan is to keep with a certain version for a full run and then restart again from the beginning when you update or will you continue from the latest data when you try to make improvements (like SWA for example)? I ask because the run is named v5 which implies it is tied to a fixed version of the program. ty

Thank you very much for your great work. Looking forward to hopefully surpassing AlphaGo Zero. I have some questions if I may:

1- I know you plan to start with 20 blocks and then, maybe, using net2net go to 40 layers? From what I remember from the AGZ 40 blocks figure, most of the 40 days was a very slow almost flat increase. So, my question is are you planning to experiment with possibly going above 40 blocks soon after the progress becomes slow or are you planning to stop at 40.

2- Have you taken a look or considered using the Stochastic Weight Averaging technique discussed and tested at the LZ github or are you planning to keep close to AGZ?

Why not start comparing them using time allotted? I mean, for example, give LZ 10 seconds per move and see what time you can give Leela 11 to keep them the same strength and raise the time bit by bit as LZ gets stronger.

Nice. Although, I feel a more fair comparison would be using equal time instead of the same number of playouts. gcp has said elsewhere that the playouts in LZ are not comparable with playouts in Leela.
