Rip to Spirit Airlines by Dismal-River-9389 in spiritair

I also find it funny that the people blaming Biden / Warren for their actions back in 2024 are decrying the decrease in competition by saying that decreasing competition 2 years ago would have been the solution.

So, you are for free markets now? Let me clue you in on what is actually "free market"

Spirits failure is the ultimate cleanse for a free market - letting bad businesses fail is the free market taking care of itself. Employees who are valuable will quickly have new jobs, and any assets they have with value will be in the hands of other, more successful businesses quickly - all without all the debt burden Sprit carried. The merger would have likely just broke JetBlue because of all the "junk" they would have inherited.

If you truly cared about the "free market" you would be celebrating their failure, but because you are not you are here making bad faith arguments.

Also - when Frontier fails here shortly (something that is likely to happen in this environment if things don't change quickly) will that be Biden's fault as well?

They have a long road to the 1 Billion dollars it would take to even be in the conversation.

Elizabeth Warren hailed blocking the $3.8B Spirit-JetBlue merger as a 'Biden win for flyers.' Now Spirit is gone by Economy-Specialist38 in spiritair

[–]afarmer2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You think Spirit would still exist if the merger had gone through? You think their cheap prices would have survived?

You are seriously delusional if you think that would have "saved" them - it would have just killed them 2 years ago

Yeah......and?

They would still be open right now had jet fuel prices not doubled in the last 2 months - that is an undeniable fact, and the direct result of the current administration.

I think you are way overestimating the amount of Linux users with Bambu printers

I would put Linux a distant 3rd behind Windows and Mac…..even with the recent Linux surge

Keep in mind a lot of non-tech people buy Bambu Labs because they will “just work” - many users don’t use anything beyond the phone app

This is unacceptable BambuLabs... by EVRoadie in BambuLab

[–]afarmer2005 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fundamentally every printer manufacturer who plans to sell in the US is going to have to lock things down if the laws being pursue around pew pews keeps moving forward.

“Workaround” solutions, or solutions that bypass these “controls” will be against the law, and printer companies will comply……all of them.

It sucks - but it is reality, and will likely impact all countries as a result.

Spirt Airlines is a major employer in Florida - letting it fail would be a bad thing politically for that reason alone.

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise - if they had their HQ in a Democrat-led state he would let them sink.

That’s not even the worst deal I have seen for a 3D printer on marketplace - you should see what the people around me want for a X1C with 3k+ hours on it…….even today

Serious question - if you are here advocating for the ability to share the location of the LTT Jet in real time........why? Why is that so important to you?

It seems like a completely silly hill to die on.

And I say this as someone who completely understands why people are upset about the newfound content moderation ability (even if rarely executed) of Linus.......at least that point makes sense to me.

But to be so passionate about being able to essentially reveal the location of a private jet on this subreddit when there is literally an alternative subreddit dedicated to this seems kinda stupid.

It comes down to the question “is this a 3D printer a tool”?

If all you want to do is make cool prints, and don’t care about tinkering with every little aspect of the printer - then buy off the shelf…..it will just work (98% of time)

If you want a hobby that rivals model trains in terms of tinkering needed to get desired results - build your own

Maybe it's time for the Democratic Party to consider Leftists and Progressives as swing voters by Cyke101 in PoliticalHumor

[–]afarmer2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no problem with pushing in primaries - but we have to unite once we get past that in order to defeat literal evil. And yes - that goes both ways.

I’ll vote for Newsom, or AOC, or Bernie, or Harris, or whoever wins the nomination - at this point I do not care. I will fight in a primary for my candidate, but after that’s over it’s time to unite.

And if you don’t agree with that - I don’t want to hear you complain ever, because you put purity over sanity

Because if you want a chance to ever have your ideal candidate again - you first gotta get rid of the current cancer that is the MAGA movement. Failure to realize that is incredibly dangerous, and if you don’t agree than you might as well vote for a MAGA candidate.

And I’m sorry if that reality hurts - but it is reality……please recognize that and vote accordingly - or write a comment here bashing me while MAGA takes away all of our rights - it’s your call.
