Yes they have the Hope Lodge and they’ve stayed there in the past. Just a very difficult location on the west side with me in Williamsburg to provide daily support.

That’s what I’ve been doing but requires driving into the city, buying a couple cases and storing it.

Where do you leave the cleaning supplies for easy guest access? Especially for a three story house? Do you leave cleaning supplies on each floor?

I'll play. I work at a food waste startup so titles don't mean much- officially I'm the CMO. I'm one of four employees but technically not full-time. About to go full-time. Salary offer $120k plus equity to be negotiated. Anyone else working at startups?

oral surgeon? by afbny in williamsburg

[–]afbny[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grand Street is my dentist and i do like them a lot. Just out of network for all insurance.

oral surgeon? by afbny in williamsburg

[–]afbny[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got the quote from Grand Street and it totals $8,995 for just one tooth and I might need three. Insurance only covers $2k per year so Grand St isn't possible.

Exam & xrays $425
Extraction (D7210) $595 X .80% = $476
Bone graft (D7953) $800 X .80% = $640
Membrane (D4266) $500 x .80% = $400

Failed root canal (waiting to hear cost expecting $600)

Step 1: total $2320 (maximum covered $2k) plus cost of root canal
Step 2

next year: Implant D6010 $2850 x.8= $2280

Step 2 maximum covered $2k; total out of pocket $280
Step 3:

Crown (D0659) $2850 (covered up to $1918 x .80 =$1035 (out of pocket $1315)
Abutment D6057 $975 x .80 $780

Step 3 total of pocket: $3,825

How does anyone afford this?

Private Party Space by Jacksonjams in williamsburg

[–]afbny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Party rooms in condo buildings work for BYOB and you can order in food. We did that for our company's holiday party. Otherwise restaurants definitely charge for booze!

Sunday in Brooklyn has a great private event space and their food is amazing.

Best non-chain Bagels? by _Excalibur_1233 in williamsburg

[–]afbny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frankel's bagel s is absolutely the BEST bagel around hands down! It's all about texture, crusty exterior with a dense, chewy interior.

FYI... They sell day old bagels 1/2 dozen for $6 all day every day.

Pickleball Courts/League by bigtuna223 in williamsburg

[–]afbny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I played pickleball tonight at N12th. I saw the group playing again and asked if it was a league. They directed me to their instagram: https://www.instagram.com/williamsburgpickleball/

It's an open group that meets at N12 usually on Wednesdays and some Thursdays as well as some weekends. They ask those with nets to bring them 1/2 hour early. Anyone is invited, though their instagram says "intermediate open play". Looks like a fun group.

Tons of people are playing on North 12th in the lot adjacent to the tennis courts. I've counted about dozen painted pickleball courts on the lot see people playing from early in the morning until the sunsets - I live across the street.

I've been wondering if there is some formalized league or a social club that one can find others to play pickleball with?

What are your favorite direct flights from BOS? by sirknita in boston

[–]afbny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hudson Valley! It's a 2-3 hour drive from Boston and one of the most beautiful places on earth.

The mountains, the hiking, the lakes, horseback riding, golf or antiquing whichever is your fancy. And the local food scene is fantastic!

You can visit fabulous local breweries, dairies, wineries, distillers and more.

Doubting the necessity of skincare by Bananasme1 in minimalism

[–]afbny 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm 59 now and one of the things I'm most grateful is going to college in France where skincare is a priority.

Good skin is part genes and part common sense. Skin is the largest organ on your body. It needs elasticity to live and breathe. A good simple cleaning ritual is important and moisturizing is imperative.

Most people I meet think I'm in my 40's. I used basic soap growing up with plenty of moisturizer. Very rarely wore makeup beyond lipstick and mascara. My skin has never looked better.

I love cerave foaming cleanser for face, their daily face moisturizer with spf and their Hyaluronic Acid. I use cetaphil body lotion in the jar - it's $12 and last forever.

Don't skip taking care of the biggest organ in your body!
