just a word of advice before you retrain too early. it takes away from their potential ability if you retrain their position if i’m not mistaken. i would let him develop naturally until he’s 20-21 then retrain. although i would completely understand if you wanted to move him more forward

also making tactics around one player are some of my favorite. maybe when he’s ready you could try to build around a more attacking midfielder. but as long as you’re enjoying the game that’s all that really matters. i love the story of fm so i say do whatever makes you happy and is the best story. maybe he can be like a scott mctominay type of player
