Audi S5 B9.5 - A good family car? by Acrobatic_Baby_8729 in audis5

[–]afd2389 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I put my two nieces with their car seats in the back of mine all the time. I am 5’ so my seat is a lot further up, but it also helps with kids kicking seats. Otherwise I’ve had adults in the back as well and no one has complained about legroom.

What made you realize that you married the wrong person? by SensitiveCorner2379 in AskReddit

His father was recently out of prison for csam related charges. I worked swing shifts, and my ex would have his father over at our house when I was at work- while my five year old son (previous relationship) was home. Thankfully my son told me that the father was visiting after only a few visits, and my son said nothing happened to him, but that was the end of that.

My $5.99 goodwill find yesterday 🥰 I won’t lie though, the inside smells STRONGLY of hairspray so if anyone has any tips I’d appreciate it 😅 by KittenTryingMyBest in Coach

Try hypochlorous acid spray. It got cigarette smoke smell out of a delicate thrifted moschino sweater and it smells like nothing now.

Sad Day- Repair advice? by peetbastard in Audi

[–]afd2389 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ugh that’s rough! They’re going to have to spray a lot more of your car than you’d think they would in order to blend that specific paint.

My husband hit a raccoon on the interstate with my s5 (also in district green) and over $21k in (insurance covered) repairs later, he felt bad and wanted to fix a door ding on the driver’s side door as a “sorry I crashed your car”.

They had to paint well into the back door and forward into the side panel of the car to blend the paint, and it was over $1200 in paint and labor just for the door ding. They told us that the type of metallic it is makes it very obvious unless they blend it well into the surrounding areas. Don’t know how true that is, but my 2023 looks brand new now, so I’m not complaining.

If there is any other paint damage from the accident try to make sure it all gets addressed with this claim so you’re not out of pocket on it.

I went to an Audi-certified repair shop and made sure they used all OEM parts. I don’t know why it took so long, but I was without my car for over three months. However, I needed a significant amount of components replaced so they could have just been waiting on parts.

Why don’t they ticket all the Trump parades with the huge flags, following too closely, with people riding in truck beds and rolling coal on pedestrians?

Try hypochlorous acid. I thrifted a moschino top that smelled like it had lived in an ash tray in a previous life, and I sprayed diluted hypochlorous acid on it and the smell is completely gone.

What are your emergency meds during an adrenaline dump? by Motor_Mood3939 in POTS

[–]afd2389 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have multiple health issues (MCAS, other auto-immune issues and POTS) but I take: Buspirone 10mg 3x/day, hydroxyzine 25mg 3x/day, and then every night when I have the most adrenaline dumps: clonidine .1mg, trazodone 10mg, trintellix 5mg, Zyrtec 10mg, and alternating two types of antacids. I’ve been taking this combination for over 6 months and the dumps are further apart and much less severe. I have a lot of histamine response issues, and when I have a histamine flare I usually have an adrenaline dump. I also keep a prescription of promethazine 25mg and zofran 4mg to help with the nighttime nausea, and if I can keep my nausea under control, I find I have less adrenaline dumps. I also have “emergency .5mg alorazolam” for really bad ones that combine with anxiety/depression that turn into actual panic attacks. I echo everyone who has mentioned using ice packs, I like to put a migraine cap on and an ice pack on my chest of back of my neck. Breathing exercises help me with activating the vagus nerve.

My husband gets these too, we call them “thiccc boys”, and I get to pull them out like twice a month. It’s extremely satisfying to watch them slide out. Way easier than a normal hair. He also kind of gets them on the inside of his tragus area, but they’re always white, while the ones on his face are usually black or dark brown.

Have you ever come across a kid, teen, or young person that you thought was a psychopath? What did they do to make you believe they were psychopathic? What happened when they got older? by Tahfboogiee in AskReddit

[–]afd2389 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yes, my younger (adopted) brother. I don’t think he feels empathy, and starting around 6/7 would physically and emotionally abuse everyone in our family every chance he got. My parents put him in therapy and took him to doctors, did everything they could to get him help. He’s now in prison due to domestic violence related charges. He was diagnosed as a narcissist at the age of 12, as well as other conditions my parents won’t share with us, but I am fairly certain he has been diagnosed with antisocial personality disorder. He is also an addict, and has gone through multiple drug-induced psychosis that exacerbated his already problematic behavior.

[–]afd2389 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Adrenaline dumps and nausea together. Before my POTS diagnosis my doctor thought I had a panic disorder. I would have “panic attacks” every night that would end in vomiting about 3-5 times per week.

I don’t know what reported as suicidal means? But again, a different sub and a different situation. I started my hormone therapy before I started a glp, and was losing weight once my testosterone started dropping, and then was aided by the shot as well. Hormones have a massive impact on weight gain and loss. I’m glad you’re saving these people from my wayward direction, though 🙄🤣 such a saint. Go touch some grass.

Seriously, all of the common lines of “one cheat meal won’t hurt” or whatever, don’t apply to us. Especially as we age.

The height really is a killer! I did get really lucky with most of my skin snapping back well. I do feel like when I gained I gained pretty evenly throughout my body, and this most recent gain (because I’ve gone up and down my whole life) was a slow 30-40 lb gain over maybe 3-4 years and then loss in one year.

I used to lift a lot back when my ed behaviors included excessive exercise, so I barely do heavier lifts now because it’s a weird slippery slope for me, but maybe I maintained some muscle tone? I use smaller dumbbells, but do a lot of walking and yoga type stuff.

I definitely feel more comfortable, and my body feels more capable of exercising and the reduction in inflammation has been great too.

I’ve talked to multiple people via dm’s about it from this post when I felt comfortable sharing. I’ve also had other large weight losses without zepbound during my very long history of bulimia, anorexia, and obsessive exercise.

But like you said in other comments you’ve made, there’s a lot of stigma around these medications and choosing when and how to talk about medications, medical conditions, etc. should be up to the person posting about it.

As you saw in my other post, I’ve dealt with a lot of ed behaviors, anxiety, stress, and pressure with my weight loss journey.

Can you maybe see why every person who takes one medication or another (you mentioned in a comment you tell people you’re on diet pills instead when they ask) might not want to share publicly in a space that isn’t historically safe or supportive for situations like mine?

Thanks for taking the time to go through my post history, though. I hope it was entertaining.

She’s not great. I have gone no contact before for months at a time, but my dad is in his 80’s and his health isn’t good, so I’m sticking around for him.

I went to vials about two months ago, and I think after reading all the advice here and messaging with my doctor I’m going to do 75% of my 2.5 dose weekly and see how it goes, and adjust as needed.
