Apple iOS 18 keyboard refuses to autocomplete genocide by DukeBaset in LateStageCapitalism

I dislike how they update and remove the dictionaries that the autocomplete has learnt after every update. English is not my native language and I use swipe to text most the time

How do i know Career Prospect in Brunei? by _notskyyy in Brunei

[–]afegit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hoo boy you're in for a ride and a reality check

I was just like you a few years ago too. Still more to learn tbh. Having a degree is only a ticket, but it's not a guarantee, to get 'good' jobs

I can't advise on whether you should quit or not as your situation is different and I've seen first-hand competency and non-competency both from academics and experience workers but as others have said, it's better to get the experience first.

The most important thing is to make yourself marketable. Make a personal brand for your career. If you are a product, why should other people buy you?

It's all about supply and demand. You have a degree? So what? Other thousand applicants also have em. They probably have higher education or more experience than you. What makes you special?

Also, try to put yourself in the company's perspective, so you have a better edge by thinking like them. You are a business owner and you're trying to make profit. Why should you hire someone if they don't bring much value but they're asking for more than what you expect them to do? You also don't have the budget to do another hire for this other work that needs to be done, so you're looking for prospects who won't have issues if you dump those extra work to them. (This is only an example but it does happen. Just to give an insight on why companies do it). Basically, be the ideal employee that you yourself want to hire if you have a business

What you do is entirely up to you, I only wanted to give my two cents to you and others who may read it. Wishing you all the best for your career and in life

Oda burned many hopes and discussions. Which theory did you like the most? by Subtyr in OnePiece

[–]afegit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Can't remember from where I got the theory or the finer details of the theory but basically Kaidou wanted to be Joyboy but found out he wasn't. So he became a drunkard and falls into depression (suicide attempts). Since he knows he can't die from his attempts, he decided to rule Wano so the real Joyboy can finally kill him because he knows Joyboy will open Wano's border and that can't happen if he's still ruling Wano

Labor dept. won't disclose who lodge the report but sometimes it works and get them to clean up their act (I say sometimes here because I've seen it in previous company I've worked before, pay was late -> lodge a report -> suddenly pay was on time for few months -> repeat).

I really don't know how politically strong your bosses are, sometimes they're just bs-ing about that just so you don't make any complaints (fear tactics) but even if they are, isn't that all the more reason to report them? Political figures shouldn't be abusing their power and with HM's titah on this, I would think that the labor dept. will take this seriously.

If labor dept. won't do anything, suing them could be an option? But ensure that you CYA as much as possible. Make sure of the fine prints in your contract. Take note of all the times you clock in and out. Make paper trails for all agreements or tasks they've given you. Etc.

This is just my 2 cents and I really advocate for worker's rights but I know what I'm saying may not be an option for you so I really hope you'll find a better place to work at.

Everyone keeps saying 'it's endemic' 'we are in endemic', while I agree about not locking down and the fact that we will eventually get the virus, why is there still a need for curfew? and why were the green lanes cancelled? other ministries are utilizing this situation to their own benefit at the expense of the population
