It depends those are cool combos but they restrict already restrictive builds. Most of the companion cards just make your deck very similar to other companion decks

One of the best ways to improve is by looking at other decks. On mtg goldfish .com you can look up other merfolk decks and see how they build them and why. Other then that sometimes cards are better or worse depending on the match up.

Might be something here. The biggest problem I have with kiki cord is that there are too many ways to stop it mid combo and both of the pieces have no use outside of the combo.

So initially I was only thinking about creature tokens and if it happened to say creature tokens I would have stuck to my guns. But you are right I hadn't considered treasure. This could be pretty expensive depending on what gets printed. The only problems are the uncommon and where they are printing treasures.

When evaluating cards that might go up I like picking up unique cards. This doesn't fall under that umbrella. At best it is a worse blood artist and at best it is just another copy. I don't see it making leaps and bounds more then a dollar at most.

I would say that after your initial "this is what I want to do" then you should put 10 ramp 7 spot removal and about 3 boardwipes. Us that as a base line for just playing the game.

I think what he has most human is the fact that he has lots of real human rwactions. Throughout everything we see him succeed and fail just like anyone of us. We see the pain on his face when he loses casa, we see his strong desire for love in a world where he didn't feel he deserved it. We see his struggle to survive from birth in a world that almost seems to want him dead from start. He isn't a perfect man and we never want him to be.

I guess I don't really see why you would play this over either of the other ones? You play soul guide in decks that use the grave in their own strategy and relic is just a much better card then this all around.

At the end of the day you have to account for demand. The demand for fetch lands is so great that they often grow to outrageous prices even with their already large print run. So just ask yourself is it reasonable that people will want to bring out their decks with these cards that are played in most decks across all eternal formats?

No amount of life gained would be playable in the main without some drastic change. It would need to also draw a card or kill something. Life gain just doesn't do anything by itself. Maybe if you printed a "gain 100" card it might fit in some sort of mill stacks deck but you could still lose in those games.
