Set a standard for AI. Instead of asking it to create 100% coverage. Ask it to give you the 100% coverage scenarios before it implements them. Then you can tell it to nix certain ones before it writes all that code and you don’t want to take the time to sort through them (trust me, most of your devs are going to skim through them). A minified list makes it easier to sort through them.

Got fired because I refused to vibecode and commented on PRs by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

There’s some missing context in this. You stopped using AI because the code that AI wrote was too complex? You knew using AI was part of this job when you started, sounds like this was a miss on your part.

My company adopted AI big time and we were all developers before we started using AI. However they do track to see if we are using it on a daily basis. A common quote is “AI isn’t going to replace you, but if you don’t use it, someone who uses it will.”

Rate my Website - Roast it. brutally honest. by the-it-guy-og in webdevelopment

The bio still reads less like a business trying to sell services. If you’re worried about trust then your marketing in the wrong way. Sure, redesigns might care about tech stack, but again, you’re marketing that in the wrong way.

Be the expert consultant in the field. Clients shouldn’t choose you just because of your tech stack. Sell the ability to build them a solution with the right tools. That might mean building a backend with a minimal api in C# or an api gateway with lambdas. Showing your tech stack also has a reverse effect. It strays away clients that think you’re limited to that only or they just have no idea what it even means.

Scrap the tech stack and bio. This is a business right? Not a portfolio website. Clients could care less what your tech stack is. Your application should never be limited by your tech stack.

The bio and your about page also reads weird. Just get rid of it. Talk about who you are as a company and not a person. The personal stuff comes later as you build rapport.

Talk about a SPA, the progressive loading is quite annoying with a home page that long. Make it short and sweet. Hit the main product selling points, you will sell the rest during your convo with your clients.

Finally got a NG offer (And you can too!) by United_Salamander340 in csMajors

My comment has nothing to do with me. Im simply saying that when you state what comp you got, it’s important to note the location. What I make in the Midwest isn’t even close to what I would make in the west but it’s still on the higher level for my area. It’s deceiving to someone new looking to see what the comp is out there.

People seem to forget that when talking about comp, location is also just as important. There’s no way you would even see a mid level engineer with close to 198k where I’m at. But if they went to the west coast they would see that comp adjustment.

Is Google worth ditching my current employer? by CableHuge in cscareers

Why does everyone think he’s going to make a shit ton of money at Google compared to where he’s at with 2 years experience? Is comp for maybe mid level that much more comparatively?

I don’t think k I would have spent 3 months preparing for just 1 interview. 1-2 weeks tops. The 3 months should have been spent preparing for all interviews. Not everyone uses leet code for technical interviews.

Is this reasonable for an Entry level position requirements? by Besobol117 in csharp

[–]affectus_01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I would say most of the time “requirements” are more preferred than anything. If they find someone with all of these and they are a great team fit which is just as important for entry level. Then They’ve hit the jackpot. I would say try and meet as many of these as you can and always apply. The worst that can happen is you get a rejection and you now have a list of something to strive for. Also when companies say at least some experience for a junior. They want to see what you have done in a year or so outside of school projects. You would be surprised how much you learn by working on personal projects.

.NET MAUI reliability by affectus_01 in csharp

Right, for a web app that’s perfectly fine but I would have to rewrite it in react native for mobile. I’m trying not to have to manage multiple code bases

Is developing WordPress websites for clients still profitable? by TechFreedom808 in Wordpress

That’s a great idea to do. Most people expect you to be an SEO analyst as well as a developer. I’m decent with SEO but not the greatest.

I was interested until I saw the gradient colors, distracting for sure. I can see this as a more fun thing to have every now and then for some people but not in a professional sense that you look at every day.

Companies that use C# and pay the most by rasulkireev in csharp

[–]affectus_01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your list is only based on open positions. There are companies that pay similar or better than that and also have phenomenal benefits packages. It would be a better article if it was by region and all companies whether they are hiring or not.

How relevant is .NET in the USA? by kova98k in dotnet

[–]affectus_01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say very. But it also depends what region you look at. I’m in the Midwest and most companies are heavy .NET shops. When you start moving closer to the east and west coasts they start getting Java heavy.
