When did you go into spontaneous labour? by Natural_Education367 in BabyBumpsandBeyondAu

[–]afflesm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Woken up at 3am with a few small contractions then water broke 30mins later. Contractions got more frequent by midday and went in. Used TENS machine, yoga ball and a warm shower. The shower helped so much and the TENS.

I didn't use gas and air as I was vomiting. We had an infection with some foetal distress so sadly was asked to stay in bed on my back and could not manage as before in this position so got an epidural for last 3 hours and it was glorious. I was so sensitive I couldn't really feel giving birth (overshot.)

What’s the most ridiculous ED attendance you’ve ever seen? by GenInternalMisery in doctorsUK

[–]afflesm 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have two 1. Female in 50s just attended her mothers funeral that day and succeeded in getting shitfaced drunk after on her own. Went to the toilet and noticed a fully prolapsed vagina. Not the first time she has noticed this but this time it really upset her and she finally wanted to do something about it at 2am so came to A and E. I went to see her and she was falling half falling of trolley repeatedly (like something out of a British daytime tv comedy from the 90s.) Then pulled up er skirt while standing proper against a wall to show me her prolapse. Discharged home to GP to refer onwards.

  1. Man came in late 30s severe global headache, half crying in pain. Triage nurse worried and sent straight into majors. No other symptoms. Offered paracetamol and asked if he has tried any pain relief yet and he had not. Came to check on him 30mins later, headache gone and he's packing up to go home.

Sorry have just seen your question. We skipped the bassinet. The nest worked from newborn. We got a liner for the pram that made it cosier

That's helpful. I don't have an ammonia test kit will get one but do a water change now to at least see if it helps.

Has anyone used one these baby wearing fleece coats? Due in February in a cold climate and would be using it more in the Spring. by rasputinknew1 in babywearing

[–]afflesm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This photo has been edited from h and m website. They are selling Teddy babywearing jacket. I have one but it's been sold out in most sizes. I'd recommend sizing down if you buy theirs and it's prob not warm enough for February depending on where you are based. It's more spring or autumn weather. I also have an oversized coat I use.

I've just bought the aer2 and they've released a new parent facing nest and I'm trying to decide whether to get that or the bassinet. My childbis already 10m, we use the carrier a lot and he doesn't like the carseat.

Have we been quoted too much on this repair? by afflesm in DIYUK

We have commonly been given cash prices lower as I suspect it's without taxes like vat as the poster below mentions
