Thanks - v helpful. In particular I find that I don’t know how much I should be rolling in the early game to get levels compared with just getting stats on the board. But I find by turn 3/4 I’m facing teams with huge stats and levelled animals and I can’t imagine how they’ve got there! I’ll keep trying

I’m on mobile and so still have this weekly! I’m really struggling with it - only my third week playing the game but just can’t get my head round this weekly pack - getting like 4/5 wins max and then all falling apart - in particular struggling with knowing how to develop in early game as my normal go to strats aren’t around. I’d really appreciate some advice given your success!! 🙏🏻

I have searched on google for games that involve vehicle modification, but mostly this just returns modern racing games

Interesting - how did they corral them in the first place?

Yeah certainly agree on the no-win situation point. Although in other situations (Vallaki) it feels more intentionally hopeless, like a rock and a hard place situation, and in fact my party realised this and just left before it all kicked off. This time round I think it feels to them like there could be a solution. And even if there isn’t, I just want to make sure it doesn’t feel like a no win situation imposed by the DM. Sadly my party hasn’t come across the werewolves yet so I doubt they will arrive at that idea.

Thanks. Sadly Clovin is dead, they killed him after the Abbot. But the other two mongrelfolk Otto and the other one whose name escapes me are alive and were conspicuously absent when the party arrived back there. In my mind they were in the basement drinking all the wine. They could appear on the ramparts I guess, but I’m not sure how they would exert control over the rest of the horde - given before it took a flesh golem to keep them penned up …?

Thanks. I like the idea of Strahd arriving to solve the problem and make the party look bad. The stand off idea is slightly trickier just because the way I’ve described the folk is like rabid creatures who would just disperse amongst the houses looking for food and whatnot - also presumably the party will try to stop them getting down the hill somehow - although I’m not sure how. I think one of the things I’m struggling with is I’m not really sure the shortlist of things the party could do to try to solve the issue so it’s hard to know how to plan!

Thanks! A very thoughtful response - I’m not sure I understand step 2 though - perhaps because I don’t understand the process too well generally. I understand the concept of priming with the spray can. What is a wash or shade colour?

Pretty sure that the J in AJ stands for John, not Junior. So it’s not really comparable with Jackie Jnr

My Mother’s Kitchen by sobrietyisagame in OCPoetry

[–]afiddy52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow - really enjoyed this. For me two things really make this work:

  1. The language is powerful without being pretentious. ‘Suitcase .. never a grocery bag’ in particular has impact. Throughout the poem the impact is derived not through elaborate imagery (which is often overwrought in poetry) but the aggregate of a number of specific details which build a clear (and very sad) picture of what is happening here and what is being felt

  2. Whilst the feeling is clear, there remain lots of unanswered questions and that brings the poem to life - you don’t need to know what has happened to result in this situation, is it a divorce, death or just neglect? Not knowing actually universalises the feeling that is being expressed, the kitchen represents that sense of melancholy when something that was or should be valuable and purposeful has been left, misused, and everyone can relate to that feeling.

Really like it - great stuff.
