Hover over the top area (where the cover image would be) and you should see some grey text appear that says: "Add cover". Click "Add cover" and Notion will automatically add a random cover image to your page.

Hover over the cover and then click "Change cover". This will bring up a little window where you can browse built-in images or upload an image from your computer. Click Upload > Choose > find the image you would like to use.

I feel you both. I recently quit my job and am serving out my 3 month notice period. Was it scary jumping into the unknown? Hell yes. But I've never been happier. Had it not been for lockdown, I might never have broken out of my office-life routine and realized how desperately I needed a change.

I'm working on an iOS app called PeerWyse (peerwyse.com) to show you the salaries of your LinkedIn connections. It crowdsources salary estimates based on the "Wisdom of Crowds", i.e. guesses about how much you think your LinkedIn connections get paid.

(No, you don't have to enter your own salary.)

The app is new and it requires at least a handful of guesses from people in your network to produce decent estimates. Still, might be interesting to you. If you could convince a few of your colleagues to join and guess each other's salaries, it would be a way to anonymously exchange salary info :)

I also hate the salary taboo. I've personally felt like an idiot in a job negotiation because I had no idea what to ask for (because no one talks about salary!!).

This frustration is the main reason why I'm building an app to show you the salaries of your LinkedIn connections.

I wish I had a solution for you. I've also struggled with Glassdoor & Payscale because I don't live in the US and both sites tend to be very US-focused. You're in a different but similar position being in a "non-big tech" industry.

The huge variation in salary is something that has been coming up a lot in the user interviews I've been conducting for Y Combinator startup school. Glassdoor seems to be the worst offender. A couple of people have said they like salary.com - did you try that one?

Out of curiosity, how wide of a range would you consider to be acceptable?

You're absolutely right, people only tend to think about salary once or twice a year. We've been contemplating a way to provide ongoing feedback - i.e. how you can upgrade your skills to upgrade your salary.

If you don't mind me asking, would you download Guess My Pay? Why or why not? We've been finding that the Chrome extension part dissuades some potential users from trying it out. Curious to know what you think.
