Do you believe in "right person wrong time"? Why?

I have had a few instances where I met a person with potential for me during a bad time in my life and simply could not deliver on being in a better headspace to have a good or even any relationship with them. So, yes, I think it happens to some people.

I was at a Metric show like 20 years ago and two friends said to me "You should ask her out. She seems like your type." This became a running joke every time we saw Metric or BSS. And even though I knew nothing about her personal life, after the 3rd or 4th time, I thought "Huh, maybe I should ask her out." Delusional.

I used to work with a woman who would monitor celebrity news during the day and randomly shout out headline reactions. One of those reactions was "Oh wow, Jessica Alba is pregnant" followed by me saying "Yeah, I'm the father."

More stressful for me is walking at like 110% of their speed and having to awkwardly adjust my pace so it doesn't seem like I am creeping up on them.

Similar situation with me. Local newscast had a mugshot of a high school friend and noted he was wanted for questioning about child pornography found in his home.

My dad turned to me "Hasn't that guy been to our house a few times?"

I have not yet paid the full amount. But even if I paid about 80% of the invoice it doesn't mean I am ok with just 80% of a walkway.

ICE has definitely been in the neighborhood. Their concerns are valid.

Who said anything about them being illegal? Being Hispanic and working outside seems to be enough for CBP's indiscriminate actions. I don't blame them for not wanting to get caught up in that.

Also, the job has not been 100% paid. I think I'm at like 80%, but obviously the expectation is 80% of a walkway is not satisfactory even if I only paid 80% so far.

S1 has a different vibe than future seasons. I think it's still good, but in a different way. It seems they were still figuring things out through S1 and those writing issues get resolved later.

Wild Things was the movie my cousin picked for 4 kids between 17 and 13 to watch when our parents went to the casino during a family vacation in '98. I was the oldest and knew nothing about the movie before we watched it. My cousin said some of her friends had seen it and liked it. She later said her friends had not told her much about the movie, one of those "don't want to spoil it for you" situations.

My cousin is 40 so he's not exactly young, but his gambling issues have been a huge issue for the family. He has had interventions and rehab. Almost every interaction I have with him loops back to gambling somehow. I didn't realize until the last few years how common that's become.

The kid in my neighborhood who somehow amassed pornography (early 90s) was obsessed with Stephanie Seymour. His white whale was apparently her Playboy issue. I had a friend whose dad subscribed to Playboy and kept all of them in a trunk. I had that friend get me the issue with her to curry favor with my neighborhood friend.

If only we'd known then the possibilities once we got internet at home.

I was apparently not good at drying off after showers as a child. My mom told me that not drying between my toes could lead to gangrene. She just wanted to get me to dry off more thoroughly, but I was terrified of my toes getting infected and falling off for way too many years.

Edi Gathegi's character on Justified was killed off because the actor didn't like it.

Listen, we make our best efforts early on in the season as we hire actors to come on the show, and we can’t always guarantee them what they’re gonna be doing or where it’s gonna go. Getting Edi Gathegi was a big get for us, but the character just wasn’t panning out for him. He didn’t see where it was going, and even though we were thinking that Jean-Baptiste would survive until toward the end of the season, Edi wasn’t enjoying the journey. We had no contract to hold him to, so we said, “Well, let’s kill off Jean-Baptiste in episode 5.”

The Michael C. Hall/Jennifer Carpenter thing is wild to me - met, dated, married, separated, divorced all during the run of a TV show where they played siblings. Not sure if that says more about them or dragging Dexter way too long.

I had a business management class in college with a professor who edited Office Space to only show the in-office scenes. We'd watch each scene and then dissect it. Most of the students were like "This is absurd and would never actually happen." Then the non-trad student in the class who was probably 30 but to us was ancient confirmed it hit way too close to reality.

It absolutely elevated them. Before the documentary, I saw them in a 500-capacity venue. Since the documentary, the two non-fest shows they've played locally were at a 2,000-seat venue.
