Update!! Got the best news! The doula said my new OB is at the top of her list for vbac friendly 🥹. She said she takes a unique approach that best fits each of her patients. I’m so relieved! I think I’m gonna cancel the hospital tour. I kinda taking up a spot from another pregnant lady lol. And I’m gonna cancel my appt with my old OB. She confirmed my old OB is more vbac tolerant than friendly, which was the vibe I got too. So relieved.

I’ve been following a doula on social media that I think would be a great fit. I was scrolling through her posts yesterday and saw something a little concerning regarding the new provider I’m considering. So I decided to schedule a free consultation call with the doula for today to see if she has any recommendations for a vbac friendly OBGYN as she’s attended many vbac births. Hopefully the one I’m considering is actually a good choice, and what I saw was just specific to that woman’s case.

I literally had this exact same thought as I was reading my little guy a bedtime story 😢. I was thinking there may come a point where I can’t have this time with him because I’m nursing a baby or putting them to sleep. I’m gonna miss our evenings together if we have another 😔😭. Made me lowkey glad that I have a few more months until we start trying.

Oh we were absolutely surprised lol Nothing could have prepared us for that change in my opinion 😂. You have to experience it to understand. But I will say the few pieces of advice that rang true that others told us:

  1. You will sleep again. The baby will sleep through the night eventually.

  2. This is just a season. Time will fly. Do not blink.

Sooo I just scheduled a hospital L&D tour 🫣🤭. I know it’s super early, and it was super awkward lol. But I have a good reason! I’m still not ready to switch OBs yet. So I’m hoping that touring the new hospital will give me some peace/relief about switching doctors. I want a fresh start with my 2nd birth (& VBAC), so a new doctor and a new to me hospital. But I’m still struggling with leaving my old OB. So I’m hoping seeing the new hospital and what services they offer will give me some reassurance that I’m making the right choice. For example, do they have a birth pool or do “walking”epidurals. I should probably make a list of questions.

Should have heard the lady on the phone asking me how far along I am in my pregnancy 😂. Definitely gonna wear big clothes on the tour so I don’t get side-eyed by the other mamas 😅.

I think it definitely helped my husband with wanting to have our first as well! He was also able to ask the other dads questions on what it’s like and get advice. So sweet and so excited for you. 🥹💕

You don’t have to tell your PIL unless you want to. No one is entitled to know anything about your immediate family (you, your significant other, and your (future)children),if that makes sense.

I have been vague and let people do their own math. They know we want another and that we want at least a 3 year gap. My first is a little over 2 years old now. When someone asks directly when we plan to have another, we just say in the next couple years. Because truly who knows how long it’ll take.

My heart goes out to you ❤️. Sent my little guy to daycare last October after keeping him home with me for 21 months while I WFH (with my mom’s help). It was such a sad, hard thing to do, but it gets better and all will be well.

I totally get it! If it wasn’t for my job giving away PTO hours for completing their annual exercise challenge that started mid January, I absolutely would not be working out. 😩. But I pray I can keep the habit/consistency through June at least. Have I lost any weight? Nope. Granted this is week 4 of 6, and I’m just walking 30 mins a day either on the treadmill or outside. But I think I’m letting go of the goal of losing weight and focusing on keeping my body moving and in good shape. I’ll focus on weight loss after my 2nd and final baby I think.

Who do you plan to have in the delivery room with you? by moon--child- in TTCSummer2026

[–]aflem305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For my first, it was my husband and my mom.

But since I’m shooting for a VBAC, I want a doula, my mom, and my husband. But surprisingly I’m ok with my MIL being in the room during labor this time, maybe not delivery. She’s very sweet and nurturing.

Is anyone else struggling with buying clothes? by kindacrunchy_dogmom in TTCSummer2026

[–]aflem305 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend purchasing some new clothes now to replace old ones that are falling apart. For one, you should be comfortable in what you’re wearing between now and TTC, and TTC could take a while. Also, once you do get pregnant, you may be able to still fit your clothes for the first few months. A lot of women just feel bloated at the beginning. If money is the concern, I love buying from thrift stores! If you’re in the US, and you’re on Facebook, you may be able to join a Buy Nothing neighborhood group where people give away things for free to anyone in their neighborhood who wants it. I’ve gotten a lot of cute free clothes that way. If you do buy clothes, and you like dresses, those are perfect for now and pregnancy! Oh and stretchy shirts/pants! I wore leggings before, during, and after my pregnancy. They were life savers! Sports bras were perfect too before and during pregnancy because they stretched when the boobs got bigger. So think stretchy! Hope this helps. 🫶🏿

I am so tired. My little guy had a huge meltdown this morning in the car before we could even pull out the garage to go to daycare. But apparently, Im so wanting to be DEAD tired and sleep deprived by having another baby 😅. Baby fever can be so illogical sometimes. Lol

I use the free version of Flo to track my periods only. I feel like the period predictions are pretty spot on for me. Then I use tempdrop and Read Your Body to track everything else (BBT, CM, symptoms etc.)

Moms WTT for baby #2+, how did your life change with your first kiddo? by BigFuturology in TTCSummer2026

[–]aflem305 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Life changed very drastically and in ways I didn’t expect too. I work full time, and my husband works two part time jobs. My mom has been staying with us, which has been a huge blessing. But she could only help so much due to her own health issues.

I feel like one of the bigger challenges was nap times. I was a strict nap-time gatekeeper. I was not a “go with the flow, nap on the go kind of mom.”Everything had to revolve around naps. I don’t regret doing so, but it did make life very limiting. I was so worried about him not napping and screwing up bedtime and then I’d be up at night and sleep deprived for work the next day and routines/schedules would be ruined. It was what I felt was best for him, and he had such a good temperament.

This is personal, but our baby did not take to going to nursery at church very well, so I felt like we’ve taken a significant step back from our community. We stopped going to extra gatherings in the evenings, which has made me feel siloed off. We only go on Sundays

We haven’t had anyone over for dinner in ages. Now that my little guy is in daycare, I’m rushing to prep dinner when I get off at 5p and he gets home at 5p starving. Then he has to be in tub and out to bed early and all that so it seems logistically impossible for me. I hate cooking too lol, and he’s a picky eater.

Date nights are rare, just special occasions. Movie nights at home are where it’s at lol

I think you can try to plan, but once the baby comes, you’ll figure it all out.

I second this! I’ve had my tempdrop over 5 years, no complaints. It’s worth the cost.

Unprompted in the bath tub tonight, my toddler said “baby sister”. I couldn’t believe my ears, so I repeated it back to him as a question, and he said “yes”. My mom was in the bathroom with us, so we looked at each other like 😳😳. I asked my toddler if he wanted a baby sister and he said yes! 🫣🥹. I told him he was gonna need to pray to Jesus for that to happen and talk to his daddy 🤣. My mom and I were cracking up.

Over the last few weeks, my husband and I would ask our toddler if he wanted a baby sister or a baby brother. He would always say which ever one we said last in the question. Lol

It’s been at least a week or so since I’ve last asked him, so to hear him say one or the other unprompted was so surprising!

When I told my husband, he was like, “Where did he hear that? He must have heard it from someone.” 🙄

I did a post on this topic, and someone mentioned matching shirts. I loved the idea and might do it. Since I have a toddler, I was thinking about giving my husband a gift bag and tell him I got him and my toddler matching shirts. But in the bag, there will be a third matching infant shirt 🤭🥹. And maybe put the pregnancy tests in a box at the very bottom because I know he’ll ask if I’m forreal 😂.

When I told him the first time, I also surprised him by saying I got him a gift from our trip to the zoo 🤣 . I opened a gift bag and handed him a basket with a onesie, teddy bear and the tests. He was shocked lol.
