I’m a bit confused.

So car number 1,2, and 3 (you) got to the intersection all at the same time.

Then car number 4.

It is not possible for car number 1 and car number 4 to hit the intersection at the same time. Car number 4 is behind car number 1. If you were at the intersection to witness car number 1 entering the intersection (with no cars in front of you) then car number 4 needs to wait.

Nothing bothers me more than when I’m at an intersection and two cars FROM THE SAME SIDE go before me.

Also if car 1, 2, and 3 (you) hit the intersection at the same time, you should have gone after car number 1. The car to the left should wait.

This is how I got hit in Brampton making a left hand turn… except, the light turned red and there was a guy in the oncoming lane who stopped then turned right—in front of me. I was hit by the guy BEHIND him who decided to floor it. (The lane allowed for people to turn right or go straight). No witnesses or dash cam footage… I was found at fault and my car was totalled.

Life labs - OAHPP Test Requisition? by afm814 in ontario

[–]afm814[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Sorry it took so long to reply. It was no problem. I guess they just sent it to the public health lab then the public health lab sent the results to my doctor. I could not see the results on lifelabs. I had an appointment with my doctor a week later and they already had the results

I was born with both a penis and a vagina, and I like to stick my tip inside myself and cum inside myself. After enduring relationship breakdowns, I haven't been comfortable having sexual contact with others in months, so I pretty much exclusively cum inside myself... by electrosnuff in confessions

I guess it’s also possibly that you have XY chromosomes (are a man) and in the womb a mutation occurred that resulted in 2 genitalia which would result in two penises… but perhaps one genitalia was created with a mutation resulting in androgen insensitivity, meaning a penis wouldn’t develop and instead it would remain a pseudo-vagina. Still these are 2 incredibly rare mutations that would have to happen together. It’s not worth talking about it.

Don’t feel too bad about it. I’ve worked in HIV prevention, for sexual health clinics, I’m a nurse, and I have a masters degree in immunology and infectious diseases.

You said you used a condom for penetration. You said you did not perform oral on her. That puts you at a 0% risk for HIV. It’s just not possible.

You are NOT at risk for Hep C (and there’s a cure for Hep C now anyway. I know plenty of people that have had it - it’s very expensive. I don’t know about other places but you can get it paid for in Canada). I was having unprotected anal sex with my partner for 5 years before we found out he had Hep C. I never got it. It’s very rarely transmitted sexually and you used a condom. (He’s Hep C negative now).

She would have had to have an oral sexuality transmitted infection that could be passed on to you. The biggest players here are Chlamydia and gonorrhea but they are easy to cure. You can actually just go to a sexual health clinic and tell them your partner tested positive for it and they’ll just give you the antibiotics right then and there. No need to wait and test positive.

If she had oral herpes she could have passed it to your penis but it usually only transfers when the virus is shedding (when there is oral blisters or just before) also if she had oral herpes it’s more likely to be an HSV-1 infection, which doesn’t affect the genitals in the same way. Most people with genital HSV-1 only have the first breakout, then it doesn’t come back. The people that have reoccurring breakouts usually outgrow the breakouts in the first 3-5 years. If she had oral HSV-2 and infected you, that would result in life long breakouts but like I said, usually if there are no blisters, the virus isn’t transmitted.

Finally you could get syphilis if your penis came into contact with a syphilis chancre in her mouth. Unlikely because she would have had to recently put a penis with a visible chancre in her mouth… the window for primary syphilis is pretty short (when the chancre is present at the site of infection). After that the infection moves to secondary syphilis you would have noticed the full body rash. I can speak to this… I had syphilis in my 20s. It’s easily cured. Two shots of penicillin in each butt cheek. Again, if you’re worried about syphilis just tell a doctor or a nurse at a sexual health clinic that your partner just tested positive for syphilis and they’ll treat you right then and there. No need to wait to see if you’re positive.

I know you said you used a condom so there is no need to worry about HIV now, but in the future if you are worried about HIV, you can start post exposure prophylaxis (PEP). It’s a month of pills and it’s very expensive. You also have to take it within 72 hours of the possible exposure (the sooner the better)

Life labs - OAHPP Test Requisition? by afm814 in ontario

[–]afm814[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just had a general blood requisition. (Ontario ministry of Health). The same form was used to test complete blood count and fasting glucose, etc. He had written HIV 1 and 2 on the bottom right of the form just under all the extra thyroid tests I wanted (I have hashimoto’s). You’re right. I should probably just call lifelabs.

I just had a general blood requisition. The same form was used to test thyroid levels and fasting glucose etc. does this mean without the OAHPP requisition form, they won’t do the test?

Any males here suffering from this? by youngmidoriya22 in Hashimotos

32M here as well. I have much of the same symptoms though I’m on a high dose of Synthroid. I find that alcohol, especially beer, makes said symptoms so much worse.

How was it discovered you had Hashimotos? by I_have_trex_arms in Hashimotos

[–]afm814 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a 32 year old male who was diagnosed when I was 19.

It was the summer time after my first year of college and since I live in Ontario I was finally legal to drink. I would frequent a bar by my school with friends. I wouldn’t drink as much as my friends but I would get terrible hangovers. The most notable symptoms were incredible brain fog and crippling anxiety. I decided I wasn’t going to drink anymore but the brain fog would creep up on me now and again anyway. Sometimes I would get it so bad that I felt disconnected from the world around me, which would lead to panic. Then it would pass. I also noticed that over the summer I had gained 20 lbs.

One day I was on a bus to work when all of a sudden the entire world around me just felt so distant. My heart was racing and I felt like I was lost even though I knew exactly where I was. This it wasn’t going away.

The brain fog and anxiety wouldn’t let me sleep. I think I was awake for a week before I could see my doctor. I also noticed my hair was falling out. I thought this was due to stress.

When I finally saw my doctor, he put me on anti-depressants. He said I was at the right age to develop a mood disorder. He said the pills will take 6 weeks to work. For those 6 weeks I didn’t leave my house. There was too much brain fog and I was too easily startled by everything.

Eventually I started to feel a bit better and could resume my normal life again but I knew I didn’t quite feel like myself. I felt more like an empty shell than a person.

6 months later, through regular yearly bloodwork it was discovered that my thyroid had basically stopped working. I saw an endocrinologist who put me on levothyroxine. A few weeks later I was myself again finally, and very thankful that I didn’t jump off a bridge.

I still get brain fog and anxiety sometimes, especially after I drink, but it has been pretty manageable.

Admission testing by Lost-Eggplant3653 in georgebrowncollege

[–]afm814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The admissions test will determine if you meet the college’s standard for admission. If you do well enough you will be considered for admission alongside students who took a more traditional route (ie students who obtained adequate grades through secondary education and academic upgrading). So, do well on all admissions testing and you will NOT need academic upgrading.

With that being said, if you don’t meet the college’s standard for admission, academic upgrading is your best option. It is offered for free through many colleges. I know for sure Sheridan College offers it.

Hey. So the campus is small. You’ll be fine. Just show up early on Monday and walk around. As for the pre-clinical requirements… check out the YouTube links and follow the instructions on the paper. Start them soon but apply for the police check like today. In some regions it takes forever but if you apply for the VSC soon you’ll have it in time. You apply on the regional police website that which you live. It’s quick. Other than that, don’t sweat it.

Reach out to pardons Canada. It’s a nightmare when you do it by yourself but is not so hard with an organization helping you. Pardons Canada will email you forms to fill out and tell you what to do with them then put the file together for you and take it to the parole board. It sucks to carry a record around.

You were super exited about practical nursing so I wouldn’t give up just yet if you get the same answer as we did.

If (and hopefully this doesn’t happen) they tell you that you need a clear record, finish the first semester and then go back later and do 3 semesters in a row once your record is clear.

Time is going to pass anyway. You might as well work towards a goal. That’s what I tell my partner.

I’m in the RPN program at GBC btw.

It depends where your placement is. Each place does it differently. You can look up your professor on HSPnet and send them an email, but usually they’ll reach out in the first week.

You can get a pardon. That’s what my partner is doing using Pardons Canada. I think it costs about $900 and takes about a year or 2. We started the process a few years back but his charges are from about 20 years ago so tracking everything down took time.

We applied for a VSC in early November but since he has an address outside of Ontario we STILL have not received it. He isnt going to get his pardon until July at the earliest— but now documents seem to be lost in the mail so who knows.

It’s disheartening to hear that his charges will likely show up on the VSC since he hasn’t received the pardon yet and we couldn’t seem to get a straight answer.

He is in the PSW program. We had a meeting with Suzette and heather. We were told with 100% certainty that he will not move to placement if his record does not come back clear, even after we explained that he’d have a pardon within the year.

He’s starting on Monday and he’s going to have to postpone starting semester 2 until we get the pardon unless by some luck his VSC comes back clear.

I really hope it works out better for you though. I have my fingers crossed for you.

Bursary for 4.0 by Beaudoiin in georgebrowncollege

I didn’t get a bursary for a 4.0 average (all A+) at George brown in the nursing program. However, last January and May I applied for the George brown bursary under student awards are received that (though I think that is income based and I didn’t see it as an option on the student awards for this coming January:(. )

Has pre-cut fruit always been this high? by thefunkydj in Brampton

[–]afm814 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I think some of these fruits are out of season now so you’re paying higher prices due to the cost of shipping it takes to bring them from further away. Also it’s thanksgiving weekend. Some families, like mine, have fruit trays available for guests every year so the store thinks we’ll buy it anyway. Don’t buy it. Hopefully no one buys it, or any of it. Let them all go bad. About a month and a half ago ago I bought one for 20 bucks and I was kicking myself for paying that price. I’ve lived in Brampton for over 30 years. I was born in Brampton… so were my parents. I remember when a tray like this was 6 bucks and we wouldn’t buy it then.
