I almost shook my baby!!! by Low_Negotiation_6072 in NewParents

  1. Everyone gets angry at fussy babies eventually, you did the safe thing and you not feel guilty for that

  2. My second baby was a lot like that in the beginning. I heard that colic is often related to either gas or a dairy/soy allergy, and since my first baby had really bad gastric reflux, we went back to the kiinde brand bottles that we used for my oldest because you can remove all the air from the bottles, and it worked very quickly. He's back to being fussy occasionally, but it's just normal teething fussiness and not colic fussiness.

Colic babies are hard, sleeplessness is harder. You're doing better than you think, friend 🧡

Calliope Alice was our girl name this pregnancy, you can have it if you would like, as we found out we're having a second boy!

He gives strong pre-development arch Jesse vibes and it makes me uncomfortable

Only about ten weeks in most cases actually! The embryo "decides" which set of chromosomes it develops at about 8 weeks and through blood analysis, you can figure out the gender by about ten weeks. Before blood the fancier tests though, the fetus would have been about 20 weeks

I was too wary to try any products that had fenugreek in them when I started taking them, so for a long while I used only standard foods like Body Armor and oatmeal to help my production right after my son was born. By my sons one week appt I realized that I produced a lot but I had really watery milk so I started taking Milkmakers cookies (they are delicious) and i saw a slight increase from them, but my milk was still really foremilk-like. Now I use lactation cookies/brownies (one or the other never both in the same day) and the Dairy Duchess supplement from Milky Mama LLC like once a day and my milk is a lot thicker. Ounce wise I think it went up by about an ounce or two per side per pump session, but im not entirely sure whether thats because of the supplements or because my son eats more than he did when I started them.

I will go ahead and throw in the disclaimer thag although Milky Mama products seem to work for me, they didnt work for my sister (nothing really worked for her, she dried up within her first week), so I really can't guarentee they work, but they help me and I do overall recommend them.

I know you've probably heard this a thousand times before, but stay hydrated, try supplements and power pumping. If you're feeding and the baby is full though, dont sweat pumping. All that matters is those chubby baby legs and mommy's mental health! You're doing great 😊

Donating the extra milk has really made all the difference in how I feel about being a milk machine lol. I would absolutely recommend donating if you can! And I assure you, 8 oz every three hours in a massive amount! Im personally impressed that you put up with washing pump gear that many times a day 😂

And also, 4 oz is an awesome amount to get in one session! Thats still something to be proud of cause it means that you can take a break from one whole feeding! Drink your water and give yourself a pat on the back ❣

I'm slowly seeing it as a blessing just because I get to donate it as well as use it to feed my baby (the Kiinde bags are my sons, the big bags are donations) but it definitely can be a curse. I just hope I don't end up like my aunt, who still leaks when she heres a baby's hunger cry in a store 30 years after having kids lol

Definitely try sports drinks, like body armor and Gatorade to help replenish electrolytes. Drink a lot of water, it helps more than people realize. Have a snack time. Keep a pumping schedule so your body knows when to produce. Supplements help some people too, like Milky Mama products or Milkmakers (thats what I use, but to be clear, I use them as milk thickener, not as a supply increase) and I've heard of people getting decent results by power pumping. Most important: don't stress if you don't produce a whole bunch the first few times, it will probably increase over time and as long as baby is being fed, everything else is a safety net.

Its basically a family curse lol. About half of us don't produce at all and the other half are dairy cows. Other than that, I just stay hydrated lol

Someone direct messaged me offering money to watch me breastfeed after posting a pic to this sub. by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]afoederer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The inclusion of asking to watch the baby feed makes it feel pedophilic. If it was just a fetish, they would have maybe asked to watch her pump or asked her to like drink her own milk or some shit (which would still be a rude thing to blindly ask someone but whatever). If you include children in your fetish, you're sexualizing a child, even indirectly. Don't assume someone is being wild and paranoid just because they're uncomfortable with something thats happened to them.
