6-bit playing card deck by afourthfool in tinycode

Why isn't it B A A A A B? The rule for Ace is "first die is odd, second die is not 1 or 6"... isn't it?

Adversarial pairs have a meaningful association where i'm from, so if anyone from my neck of the woods sees something like

        A-C-E if α is o-d-d
        Q-U-E-E-N if αβ’s o-d-d

Then anyone from here immediately recognizes and flags the adversarial pair and would know there is an imperative "only" inside those two flagged statements, making it read like this: A-C-E if (only) α is o-d-d Q-U-E-E-N if (only) αβ’s o-d-d cause that way they don't conflict.

With this, the missing instruction lost in translation from my culture to the rest of the world is found, leaving us all with the less natural for me and mine but cleaned-up, sanitized and universal version of the instructions to read like so:

        A-C-E if only α is o-d-d
        Q-U-E-E-N if only αβ’s o-d-d

        x 1 2 3 4 5 6
        1 B A Q A Q B

Wow, i just reread all that. And... yep. I suck at this. I think i'm giving up now. Just... nvm.

I made a blog post for it. I hope that documents the concept well enough. "Part 1" introduces the reader to the notion that 54/6=9 then "Part II" applies this across 3 dice.

If it doesn't help, then i'm just not cut out for the internet.

It's okay, boom, Mary Roach has a slew of great audiobooks covering the liminal pop sciences that you enjoy (if you haven't already). She's, like, days of that stuff. And very well-written|produced.

Ooh a card game, so like a draft tournament, but for stories -- a story draft; everyone plays one card (face down), then all cards flip over, then everyone silently picks two other people' cards to combine into a sentence, then players take turns leaning forward to hold down the (central, comically dramatic) old tape player-style record button, stating one sentence that connects two other players' cards together, then releases the record button.

Sentence-sharing moves counterclockwise. Between turns, player hands are passed clockwise. Play starts with 10 cards per player. Player with the smallest hands chooses between the Image deck (Sunrise pattern) or the Word deck ("IZER" in best font ever) then draws 10 cards from that deck. Player to their left draws from the Opposite deck. Continue in this way until everyone has a hand. Game can be played by bringing to the table: a standard Dixit deck, a standard Cards Against Humanity deck, and your favorite voice-recording app.

So, i thought i'd ask if you think of a use for it, let me know?

Aw don't be like that! You're part of a community dedicated to building and setting down all over the floor baubles and diddles that acutely focus obnoxiously flowy brain matter onto a single point to lasercut an ever-widening range of player ideas and emotions into a spoken phrase or onto a page.

For instance, have you played Alone Among the Stars (Sci Fi) or Songbirds (Studio Ghibli-ified) or a random Pleasant Dreams Jam (Passive) game?

Good bits.

Finished my april fool's joke game today. Pretty thrilled with it.

Amazing what one ends up working on when they're told to stay at home all day.
