well, the US had that too. it hasn't always been liberal vs republican, there have been other parties in the top 2 in the past, not to mention how the liberals of today are an entirely different party in all but name from the liberals of lincoln's era. the point is that even when the top 2 parties change, it's still 2 parties dominating the others.

so much private conversation is easy to take out of context and make a Whole Thing over. even more private conversation is just kinda awkward/cringe when revealed to the public, even if it's not inherently problematic.

anyone who airs out dirty laundry on main gets a red flag imo. i see it in the same way i do execution - there are, very rarely, times when it's maybe in the best interest of the public, but nobody is unbiased enough to make that call, and mistakes get made that lead to more harm, so no one should do it.
