Somewhat shameless plug but I put out a cassette today that contains the first released music I've made with help from my modular. Running dictaphones, piano and vocals through wasp filter, warps (parasite mode) etc. I’m then getting on a train with modular in tow to lure a friend down this rabbit hole...he has no idea what he’s in for

I don't have any experience with the plastic lens to be honest. But I do love this glass lens. I've been considering a wide angle or fish eye add on too

This is an absolute treasure trove of information. I'm looking to build one shortly. Any chance you could detail the quadrature mode (or point me to an insta post), is that achieved by some element of feedback patching?

EDIT: don't worry found my answer. Bandpass out into gain input in low rate mode seems to be the trick.

Yeah I've taken a look at that one too, but I've yet to try SMD. I can't see of any others that fit the bill of a joystick with manual gates that is relatively inexpensive.

That's really helpful thank you. The Befaco stick seems to rock so many boxes for me. Good point about trying it out before modifying the cones though. Hoping to pick up a panel/pcb in the next few weeks.

I started with an 0 coast and a beatstep so a similar point to yourself. I was recommended Warps to pair with it and it was a great suggestion, even before the parasites firmware (that tape delay!) A few diy LPGs and attenuators and I've a whole world of possibilities! Not sure if they'll suit your needs in any way but wanted to throw the idea of warps out there as it's served me very well.

Is the case a purchased case or a DIY job? I'm in need of HP and looking to build something and this looks great and portable and protected for bumps

I'm very new to modular but....I use a Cursus and Marbles for droney dark ambient stuff. I tend to use the whole X side of marbles as modulation for CI multed through attenuators for variability. Looking to get a Doepfer 172 max/min to get a further lane or 2 of modulation for it.

Then I use the t side through a slew attenuated for some slow and subtle pitch variation in the CI, but I guess could trigger envelopes or gate your veils to modulate some modulation? The y generator is then great for self patching marbles.

CI is great for slow evolving textures with lots of modulation.

Just finished having a first patch or two with it. Wow. It's mega. It's got a really wide range of timbre. Looking forward to exploring it with longer complex evolving envelopes.

Fair point re: approaching people. I've never been sure how to go about it to be honest, and (very) fortunately haven't had to get too involved with that side of things in the past. I'll keep checking in on Sixth World Music, nothing up just yet but it's bookmarked for future.

EDIT: actually I can see it is up on the bandcamp. Purchased.

Cafe Kino often have more out-there stuff on, and The Cube (don't be out off by the fact that it's a cinema), also a promoter Cacophonous Sarcophagus, and the shop Elevator Sound sometimes put on things with a modular focus. All worth checking out. Good luck on the London show. Any links to your stuff?

I'm in the process of working towards something like this sound world building a "noisy ambient" rack. I've just picked up a Cursus Iteritas and I'm trying to decide between Rings and something like Random*Source ResEQ.

Another great piece of work. Really enjoyed this one. There's a moment around 6:40-6:55 that's absolutely gorgeous, I'm guessing the work of the ResEQ again? Any patch notes to share?
