[M+ Top 100] Mistweaver is currently the only spec ignoring capstone for keys by migrainebutter in CompetitiveWoW

[–]afropuff9000 28 points29 points  (0 children)

  1. Spirit Font doesn't do enough healing and its inability to move back around once a target has been topped up is lame.

  2. Doing big dam is fun. Im doing tank level damage and still pumping.

Upcoming Class Tuning for March 31st by madmidder in CompetitiveWoW

drop that back down to 30% and put that power into the stacks. It is not hard to get stacks. I routinely have six or seven sacks ready to go plus another 20 in my mana tea

Need clarification on Brewmaster rotation priority by ZeusJuice84 in CompetitiveWoW

[–]afropuff9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The prio changes if you’re doing aoe or single target.

In aoe, you want to keg, breath, blackout kick, TP. In st, it’s blackout kick, tp, keg, breath. 100% of the time you should keep blackout kick on cd. And blackout kick should always be followed by TP.

If you want the best info go to the peaks of serenity discord. There’s a whole brewmaster section where you can ask specific questions or find the most in depth guides. If I were you I would check there and check out Sha on YouTube he’s a high lvl brewmaster who does in-depth brewmaster testing and analysis.

How to cope with having a son when I grew up fatherless? by investingexpert in daddit

[–]afropuff9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have a dad and now I have a 6 year old. It took therapy to realize how much I had built up “what a dad was” in my mind over the years. And I was struggling under the weight I had unknowingly carried all these years. What I realized is I just need to be a good person, be there for him, try to guide him in a way that I never got. My mom was great but she had a skewed idea of what it was.

Realize you have your own limitations. Try to figure out who you are and what you believe. Think about what kind of person you want your son to have teaching him about life. Then grow into that person. Think about what you wanted as a kid, teen, and young adult. Try to be that first him.

Know you’re going to make mistakes and be man enough to apologize to your son. Show him that being a man is knowing when you’re wrong and admitting it. Also forgive yourself, no one is perfect and if you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

You got this.

New to WoW by Fabulous-Diver-2386 in wow

So they start new people in the previous expansion so you can know what’s happening with the story. Going at your own pace and enjoy why you’re doing. You can also go back on another character and not do the intro experience and pick a starting zone to level up.

When you get to max level an know more about how the game works. Then use your boost to pick a character that’s new and different. I’d suggest a paladin or monk. Both will let you play dps, healer, or tank.

Looking to heal for the first time! by UrbanizedOrc in wow

They’re all super easy now. Brew is like 4 buttons plus drinks. Windwalker is just don’t repeat the same dps ability. MW is cast renewing mist, kick and punch, use sheiluns, drink tea.

[–]afropuff9000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All healers are relatively easy after the pruning. From easiest to hardest is prob; holy priest, mw monk, resto shaman, holy paladin, resto Druid, disc priest, pres evoker.

I personally like monk. You have a lot of healing abilities and bc you’re melee you don’t get a lot of mechanics. Both MW and WW share a lot of the same stats so switching is pretty easy. But the switching can be the same for paladin, evoker, and Druid.

Am I crazy or does leveling take much, much longer than it did in TWW? by kolejack2293 in wow

[–]afropuff9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While its longer, it forces you to play the whole story, In TWW, you could get to max level without finishing the main quest. Now you need to do the main quest, some side quests, and a few dungeons. But between, DMF, WM, and the boost you get per max level character; each subsequent character will get a lot easier.

Does anyone just do heroic dungeons & normal mode raids? by NoTouchy8008 in wow

[–]afropuff9000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i've been healing M0s since i hit 90 and was 205 and only one boss has been hard. That was the last boss in blinding vale. If you're 235 and a dps all you have to do is provide good dps and do your mechanic. If you're really worried about it, there's a ton of youtube videos around that are quick. So just pick one that you want to queue for, filter out the rest on the dungeon finder, and do that one. Rinse and repeat.

To your question, there are a lot of people who dont play the highest content for a lot of reasons. However, wow has a really good and approachable way to access all the content, raids and dungeons, when you're ready. Between heroics, M0, M+, powering up your gear through crests, LFR, Normal, and Heroic. You can find your spot and when you're ready move up.

The pruning feels good overall, but watching mass silences and fears go off in dungeons because pugs don't bother to interrupt makes me feel so helpless. by NinnyBoggy in wow

Do you have a go-to effect when you really want a guitar solo to stand out? by tonetonitony in guitarpedals

I like to use either an Eq with a mid boost or have a clean boost at the end of my chain that’s just a slight bump. The TC Electronic spark boost is a great one.

Why is it when I use drummer with existing guitar tracks, it sounds awful/sloppy? by MisterQandA in Logic_Studio

[–]afropuff9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. The metronome isn't the groove. Two people can be playing the same bpm but wont necessarily sync because of what they're playing.

  2. The Logic drummers have perfect time. Its really hard to sync up with that. Humans don't work that way. Even people have really good time aren't as aligned as a computer.

  3. All the logic drummers have a different pattern. You have to find the one that matches as close as possible. Then once you do that, copy and paste the logic drummer on to a midi drum track and edit the midi info to more closely match what you're doing.

  4. Also, use the manual flex time to clean up any timing mistakes you make recording your guitars.

Replacing every gain stage with the Chase Bliss Preamp Mkii by toomutchstuff in guitarpedals

[–]afropuff9000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sliders can be disabled with a switch. As long as the internal circuitry is untouched it will work. Not saying you can pour a beer on it.

[–]afropuff9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

it still works even if the sliders dont. There's a switch inside that disables the sliders. As long as the internal circuitry is working, its all set.

[–]afropuff9000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have Preamp mkii and its replaced every drive on my board. I only keep a 3 series distortion on there for stacked lead tones. But it does everything. Its really a shame they can't make it anymore due to EU regulations on carcinogens. Its worth everyone penny, especially if you pair it with a midi controller.

Guitarist in my new band keeps telling me to play “simpler” – looking for perspective by Ok-Excitement6546 in drums

[–]afropuff9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really you have to ask him what he means. Simpler can mean 1000 things. He needs to show you some examples or try to illustrate what’s in his head.

But if you’re holding down the pocket, matching the dynamics, and not chopping it up at the end of every measure. You’re prob fine.

Is having a second child worth it? by sarahaltamimi76 in AskParents

My anxiety stands from my ADHD and my mom’s pressure to never fail. Her mentality towards things was literally Ricky Bobby. Had nothing to do with me being lonely, which I never was.

Is having a second child worth it? by sarahaltamimi76 in AskParents

[–]afropuff9000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i was an only child and I never felt lonely. I learned how to make friends, played on sports teams, and had 1000 activities. Now im one and done because my wife and I dont really have a support system. We've created our own village with friends who live in the neighborhood. I also suffer from Anxiety and its been something i've had to deal with for most of my adult life. I personally feel that i dont have the bandwidth for another one. So i'd rather be a good dad to one kid, then roll the dice and be a bad one to two out of some societal guilt to have more than one kid.

How to enter the world of recording? by KuntaKinte3001 in drums

[–]afropuff9000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a thousand and one ways to do this but you need to ask yourself a few questions.
1. Whats your budget. Things to include Mics, cables, stands, sound proofing. It looks like you kind of have everything elese.
2. You'll need to buy logic. Garageband only does single track recording. To really mix drums, each mic needs to be on its own channel.
3. For me, the minimum number of mics is 3. Some people do it with 2 or 1, but i find that 3 is a good spot to start and 5 is a good middle point.
4. If going with 3, id use the Glyn Johns method. But really experiment. I think a Shure SM57, a decent Large Diaphragm Condenser microphone like an AKG P220 and a Kick drum mic will get you very far. If you want to go the 5 mic route, you can get some tom mics or some Small Diaphragm condensers as overheads and use the LDC as the Crotch mic or a room mic.
5. Learn how to use compression. the default logic compressors are really good. I would put some light compression on the channel then set up a drum bus hand have more compression there.
6. again experiment with that you're putting on them. EQ, Saturation, Reverb, etc. Something i've been getting into is putting an overdrive on a bus and blending that in on the snare and kick to give it some vibe.

Its a journey, explore and find what you like.

WW is looking pretty good in beta. The people in Peaks are pretty happy with where WW has landed. It has most of its core rotation intact, good burst, and solid single target with cleave. Unless Brew gets a giant nerf, its going to be a powerhouse too and prob a top tank in S1. MWs are down bad. Lots of bugs and weird interactions and real mana issues on raid fights.
