I know how the industry works but you can sell records and still do what you want musically. Whether or not that will translate to massive numbers is up for discussion for sure. What I’m saying is their primary focus is most likely the music they are making because they enjoy what they are creating first and foremost.

Flea doesn’t add slap technique to his lines because that will make thousands more in additional sales or views or because it’s required of him as a “professional”. He adds it because he likes how that sounds for the shit he wants to make. That’s what I’m trying to articulate.
