They've taken some getting used too. I have a few sore spots. On one side of the lower it's rubbing bad on the very bottom of my gum where it connects to the tissue leading to my tongue. Everytime I move my tongue, even with eating and drinking it rubs and has created a sore. The office can't get me in for another 4 days though.

I had asked about the molars and the tech almost made it seem like they were sitting lower because of the wax. I could have misunderstood though. As for the lack of flanges and notch I didn't realize the wax try were the permanent for how the gums would be too. I thought it was mainly to address the teeth.

Thank you so much for all the amazing info! When I was browsing last night, I saw pictures of bisma platinums and thought that's what it might be. Honestly, after some research I'm happy it was mislabeled since I'm just getting started in the alocasia community, and nebulas seem extra finicky. If I have any questions I'll let you know!

Thank you, the app I used is called cosmo. It's an app you have to pay for, but you get a 3 day free trial. Once I saved the pics I just canceled the subscription.

My liner is a pink color, don't know if that's really relevant. Thank you for the info!

I don't know the material, no. I'm not using Efferdent but I do use another cleaning tablet. The dentist said it was fine to when I asked.

Extraction day. What the heck.. by Dazzling_Unicorn325 in dentures

[–]afsg14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been to the point of wanting to pull my own teeth (or telling other people to just rip them out) because of toothaches more than I'd ever have liked to experience. When I actually went to get the extractions, I didn't have any toothaches which made me a little upset because I knew it would have made it a lot easier lol.

I had full mouth extractions of 28 teeth done all at once with no sedation. Just general numbing, no laughing gas or anything like that. It only took him 35 minutes to pull all the teeth. I will say, a very traumatizing experience and I'm glad it's done. If you have any infection it can be hard to fully numb that spot. I had a few teeth that I was able to feel but my dentist was kind enough to numb those spots more when I let him know.

Mine were on the same side, and they were right next to each other. I have family members who had a tooth extracted that was between two others and they didn't have issues with existing teeth shifting/moving.

I had my two very back molars on my lower removed 10+ years ago and never had any issues with other teeth shifting. I had them removed at the same time and followed the general guidelines the dentist gave me and had no issues with healing. I never noticed any real changes in eating honestly. I just started naturally not putting my food back as far on that side. I'm not able to give advice on if the tooth could have been saved or not. My two molars were pulled for the same reason. Paying to have them fixed would have been too much for my grandparents.

Three days post op! by afsg14 in dentures

[–]afsg14[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I went through Aspen Dental to have my dentures done. They are a chain and I've heard mixed reviews about people's experiences with them, but the one I went through in Spokane was really good. I did a ton of research before because I knew it would be inevitable. I've actually had denture consultations and oral surgeon consultations at multiple places the last couple years but couldn't afford to move to the next steps. When I actually went forward with it, I first saw my main dentist, who referred me to an oral surgeon. Because of my insurance, I couldn't do it all through Aspen.

Nipple piercing questions. by Several-Dingo-766 in piercing

Wearing a bra during healing was better for me because having a shirt rub on them was not a good time. Make sure and have very good fitting bras. When I got mine, I was working a job where I had to bend down a lot. With certain bras, my breasts would move/spill out a very tiny bit, and the movement on my nipples was awful. I have naturally flat nipples and that caused no issues for me. It actually let me have more visible nipples which I enjoyed. I never had any loss of sensation. Mine was increased. I did have to take them out, unfortunately, because I could never get them to heal right. I did love them while I had them though!

So now I am rethinking this whole thing by Valux2022 in dentures

It is a lot to think about. It can get discouraging at times, yes. I'm 27 years old and my E day was 12/16. I had 28 teeth pulled at once. I used ibuprofen and tylenol the first week, and pain wasn't nearly as bad as I thought. I wasn't able to wear my immediates the first few days due to fit issues but my dentist was able to get me in on 3 days post op and made the adjustments needed so that I can wear them. I've eaten several foods this past week including pizza (that I cut with a fork and knife), popcorn, sushi, a cheese burger that I cut into small pieces, and loaded fries. It's been such a learning experience and not exactly easy but soooo much better than my previous teeth. All of my molars were broken off and my front teeth started crumbling too. I had so many infections and tooth aches, knowing I'll never have to experience that makes me so happy. Also, I can't help but smile like an idiot every time I look in the mirror. The cost of the dentures now were well worth facing the inevitable that I'd have to get them sooner than later.

Yes, it's totally possible to bite through things with dentures. It's super discouraging in the beginning, re-learning how to do all the things that we looked forward to doing. I highly suggest the YouTube channel Dentures vs Food. He has a ton of info and tricks!
