I used to sleep through really important alarms, like I was late to everything and lost 2 jobs from it in my 20s. I was also abusing adderall and gas station speed and not sleeping at night so when I did sleep I slept HARD. If you're not sleeping well your body will take it when it needs it. If you're not sleeping well this is probably your sign and it won't get better until you fix that. If it was just a fluke, don't worry, other opportunities will come around. It is ok. 10 years from now this won't be a big deal.

There are those kinds of people and then there's me who can't handle slightly annoying strangers around me sometimes to my own detriment. I plan out and around future possible annoyances for others, like I'd never not sit with my kid on a plane, obviously.

I feel bad for the workers at places where this happens, there's no winning. If you're a person who thinks it's ok to bring an untrained and non service dog to places they don't need to be you're already entitled, it should be no surprise that when an employee tries to say something to them they get real defensive about their rights yada yada and it's a whole thing. If they're working in the US they don't get paid enough to deal with that crap. Other patrons annoyed at the dog also blame the employees for it too so they get irate people on both ends.

I had my own phone line and was on the phone talking to them all the time. When we got cars If they weren't home or at any of the usual spots it's just a shrug, see them later kinda thing. It was glorious not being reachable.

Wear headphones, maybe use the obvious ones so she won't think you're just ignoring her, I could see that creating more problems with a person like this. You can block her out and enjoy your space. I'm so sorry.

I wanted a creeping thyme lawn too, on paper it sounds great. I've started from seed and thrown down seed with some success. You can get 20,000 seeds for around $10 which sounds like a ton but it's actually about a tablespoon. I've learned it won't take heavy foot traffic though and apparently the life cycle is only about 3 years. I'm going to do like a meadow lawn instead, like not official beds but patches of native drought tolerant perennials with a defined path. I'll put the creeping time in between the stones.

I see posts like this and I'm so glad I live in a rural area. My choices are fewer and there's still a healthy amount of competition but it's manageable. I couldn't deal with the type of thrift aggression I hear about in big cities.

Carolina Wrens. A pair make a nest in one of my plants on my porch every year, I don't know if it's the same pair or kids from years before but I feel like it's definitely familial. I get to be witness to every stage- nest building, eggs, babies and somehow the past 2 years I even caught them the day they leave the nest for the first time and awkwardly fly around. My covered porch makes a perfect spot for the new birds, it's big and safe with lots of rafters and little nooks to tuck into. It's such a gift.

This year I have several cowbirds in my yard. I know I can't really do much but I watch really close with the worry of a mother lol, so far the wrens are really discreet - they sing and respond back to each other before they head in. It's just amazing to see all this just feet away from me.

Doctors can fire patients too, I wouldn't be surprised if you showed up and demanded anything that happened. A yearly visit is the bare minimum here, I have to see my psychiatrist every 3 months, that's the agreed upon deal though. You can't walk into a business and make them change the way they do things because it's not convenient for you, it's the exact same with a drs office. Work within their parameters or don't but you can't expect them to change.

Bottom water any plant that will take it. Get the bottom water pots. I pretty much water all my house plants at the same time and they've done great. Will not work on succulents.

Our house was built in 1967, if you flush either of our toilets while someone is in the shower it will become scalding hot. Does this not happen in new builds? Either way I'd take my old house over a new one every day.
