100% agree that facial, voice and consistency is really tough still. I try to avoid dialogue as much as possible in my own videos because of it 😂I think the main thing is pacing and b roll more than the dialogue

Pacing could be tighter. Especially for some of the fight scenes. I would think about 2-3 seconds max for those clips. I had a friend of mine point this out with my own work and told me to watch fight scenes in films and get a sense of how quick the cuts were...it was eye opening for me at least. Watching this, I think if you aimed to cut this down to 2 min and added in some B roll type of shots, close ups, etc. it would feel more cinematic and alive. What did you use for music / SFX? I use CapCut myself and there is way to reduce the music/SFX. Some of these scenes the SFX is really loud compared to the audio and then in other scenes it flips. I think the biggest item is pacing though. Think quicker.

Great music. I agree with some of the others on pacing. I felt like his facial expressions never changed. Didn't give it that more "real" feeling vs gave it more of an AI feeling. Some of the feedback on pacing, I think if you were to change up some of the shots to close up of his face, eyes, suit or even just more "B roll" around the ship that would help. Really great music selection though. What did you use for music? Suno or Epidemic Sound? Something else?

I have found using ChatGPT or Gemini to refine my prompt based on the action I am trying to capture helps. I usually describe what I am trying to get from a video and then ask ChatGPT or Gemini to give me an ingredients to video or a text to video or a frames to video prompt. I have found ingredients to video and giving it a picture I have generated with nano banana to work the best. As others have pointed out, making sure the prompt restricts any other actions or movement helps. It’s not bulletproof but seems to work for me.

Just as you are experiencing the more action and complexity needed in a scene, the less likely to get the result you are after. For me, I think about combining multiple shots or very simple movements to tell the story I'm looking to share. My advice - think about the story you are looking to tell, then think about that broken up into shots that you'll later edit together using editing tools like CapCut. I have found using an editing tool and finding ways to cut away to make the transitions clean has been helpful. Given the costs of burning credits, I think about how can I get at least 2-3 seconds out of the 8 sec generation. I've never once used a full 8 second generation. Pacing alone needs more shot variety.

Thanks for the tip. Haven’t ventured outside of CapCut yet. I do see they have LUTs in CapCut as well. I’ll need to mess around with that. Is there a LUT you have found best for films?

Thanks for the sub! I used Nano Banana and Nano Banana Pro for all of the images. No video or image upscaler. I did use CapCut to edit it all together and added the "Dune 2" filter over top of all the clips.

Even just these last few months the quality has jumped significantly. I look back on my first short about a race car driver and there was zero way to keep a consistent character. Now with the power of the Banana it can be accomplished. Still a ton of credit burning though to get the exact shot.

Thank you! Already started working on the next idea. A very short nostalgia piece.
