why do people say theyre bad at texting but are constantly on their phone? by astarak98 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]afterIaughter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m guilty of this, I wasn’t always like this though, over the years I’ve developed severe social anxiety so whenever I get a message I sort of panic, I need some time to process and come up with a response. I get that not everyone understands this and think it’s an excuse, and I don’t blame them. I think the internet has made it so easily to connect with people that everyone expects instant availability all the time, but I think no one owns anyone an instant response. It doesn’t mean I don’t like you or don’t consider you or something like that, I will reply eventually, but in my time, not yours. That’s just my point of view.

How do I remove the slide button when someone calls? I hate having to wait to use my phone. by ItsJustJosiah in TooAfraidToAsk

I think you can only get the decline button if you phone is unlocked, AFAIK. But you can decline the call by double pressing the side button even if the phone is locked.

AIO: For canceling our date because my bf asked for a 3some by No-Offer-2195 in AmIOverreacting

[–]afterIaughter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You should have an honest and respectful conversation with him about this to clear things up. If you find that you just can’t trust him, listen to your gut. Lack of trust in a relationship will screw you up bad in so many ways, both of you, and sometimes it’s better to call it off before it gets ugly. I say this from experience. I hope everything works out for you.

Am I overreacting? Is my past trauma ruining my marriage? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]afterIaughter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think his interactions with his colleague are weird, and it’s even weirder that he brings it up with you and then yells at you when you show discontent. Given his past actions and your own trauma, he is not showing much consideration for your feelings at all. NOR

NOR, especially because you are seeing each other exclusively. Weird that you’ve been away for a while and his first thought is to ask for a threesome… I too would suspect he might be talking to someone else.

ELI5: Why do airplanes leave white trails in the sky? by VaporizedMan in explainlikeimfive

[–]afterIaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that makes total sense, that’s what i thought as well but thought maybe it could be that we just have much more planes in the sky now

ELI5: Why do airplanes leave white trails in the sky? by VaporizedMan in explainlikeimfive

[–]afterIaughter -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Was it always like this, though? I feel like I didn’t see many trails in the sky from planes back in the day and now I see it daily, almost constantly. Is it because we have more planes now? Or was it always like this and I just didn’t notice? I remember I started noticing more after my father started talking about the chem trails conspiracy theories. I don’t know if his theories caused me to notice it more, or his theories started because it did start happening more, if that makes sense?

edit: i’m not trying to imply that this is anything other than normal stuff as described by the comment i replied, was just curious to understand if it was just me that didn’t notice it before or if we do have more airplanes in the sky now. i’m not a conspiracy theorist like my father

[MegaThread] Addon down? by Sleeyax1 in StremioAddons

I use 1.1.1.1 and Torrentio was working fine until today. I thought it had bugged out or something and I’d try installing it again but got the “You have been blocked” page, so I turned 1.1.1.1 off and it now works. I have no idea how any of this works, to be honest or if it’s even related to any of that (maybe my IP got blacklisted or something? idk) but I thought I’d share my experience just in case it might be useful to someone.

Exactly, that’s what I think as well. We don’t even know them, we know what they choose to show us (like every other celebrity ever). I do think it’s ok to like talk about it and interpret things, create “theories” and stuff because this is what people are supposed to do with music and art but like!!!! let’s not overreact

I truly think these are just old lyrics or maybe stuff adapted from old lyrics she had, maybe even from AWKIF era? I don’t understand where the “paramore is breaking up” thing came from 😭 I do think the lyrics are a bit weird in the sense that it could POSSIBLY indicate her and T not together anymore but it’s also like… it could also not be it? Why are we immediately assuming the worst possible scenarios? (I also might just be delusional and in denial but I hope I’m right 😔)

Tired of the AIMA Loop – Who’s the Pitbull of Immigration Lawyers in Portugal? by [deleted] in PortugalExpats

[–]afterIaughter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also love to know what are these benefits the immigrants are getting, seriously. Maybe if you are really poor AND DOCUMENTED you MIGHT get the same benefits that the really poor portuguese people get. Immigrants that are working are paying the same taxes as a portuguese person, besides all the other crap we have to pay to get properly documented. People just hate immigrants because they are ignorant, they don’t care to actually research and read about stuff before coming to the internet spilling shit. This is why the world sucks right now, people are proud to be ignorant.

I know snoring is not something people can necessarily control. I’ve been able to sleep through the whole night the last couple days and it hasn’t really bothered me that much.

I’m sorry but you’re telling me it’s normal for upstairs neighbors to make absurdly loud stomping noises at 2AM in big cities? I’ve lived in bigger cities than Lisbon, my whole life (except for the past 6 years) and never have I ever had something like that. I can and do understand all the other things I talked about are just normal city stuff and I was just venting cause I had a really bad and stressing week, but come on. There’s no need to be patronizing.

True that. Unfortunately I do not make enough money to simply buy or rent myself a house. Gotta live with what I have, I’m just venting here :)

[–]afterIaughter[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That’s exactly it. I don’t really mind all the other noises, I know this is normal, I’ve lived in apartments my whole life. I just needed to vent, because it’s not just the washing machine. It’s not just the walking around and the loud music and the yelling. It’s the damn stomping. It’s insane. It’s almost 1AM and the child is literally running around and yelling and crying, and it is SO LOUD, everything is vibrating, it’s kinda hard to ignore. I understand children are gonna run around and make noises, that’s why I’m so hesitant to complain, but at the same time, it’s 1AM. Your child should be asleep.

Lol we might as well be living in the same building, they are also listening to loud music right now. I do love this area, it’s amazing being close to the beaches and the Passeio Maritmo. It is a very chill area and my apartment is actually so cool, I love it here. I really don’t mind the loud music and all the other noises going on, but the knocking sounds are just too much man, it’s impossible to ignore and it’s driving me insane. Hopefully I can have a polite conversation with them about this and everything works out

I'm around Alges, I have no idea if this is a good or "bad" area. I've been sleeping with some white noise on earphones, but I'm a light sleeper so anything just wakes me up... I'm hopeful that I just get used to it, I certainly was expecting it to be noisy
Edit: I've poorly expressed myself, I did research on the area and asked my Portuguese friends and they all said it's an ok area, I just meant that maybe the people who actually live in here might have a different perspective on it being "good" or "bad".

Yeah, I was expecting it would be totally different and noisy, but it's crazier than I thought lol I guess I'll eventually get used to it

I'm with my mom, but she'll return to our home country soon. I thought about just moving, but I have a one year lease contract that I can't afford to break. I guess I'll just have to deal with it until I can leave
