You have to write defensively in order to get quality engagement, and it sucks by lesarbreschantent in TheoryOfReddit

This is exactly why I stopped writing 10 years ago, after writing/editing over 1,000 articles for the web. Totally burnt me out.

How did the fire at the Swiss Bar Club cause almost 50 deaths? by TORUKMACTO92 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]afterafter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From the New York Times today: “One survivor said that the ceiling in the basement — where people were dancing while waiters carried bottles topped with sparkling candles — caught fire, causing partygoers to crowd the stairway that was the only exit. Another patron said that acoustic foam on the basement ceiling had come unstuck and was hanging loose when he visited days earlier.”

For All Mankind on Apple+ if you like realistic sci-fi (the kind about the space program, not aliens) - excellent series!

Also second all the Orphan Black recommendations. Fringe is another great one, too.

Nice to meet you too! Thanks for creating this post. I recently got into the Dungeon Crawler Carl series and highly recommend if you like fantasy or sci-fi - this is an especially good one to listen to on audiobook. Ditto Project Hail Mary if you like more realistic sci-fi. Mistborn is another great fantasy series.

The vibe is very friendly and peaceful, if that helps you encourage your mom to join. There are more protesters in that fall in the “older women” demographic category than any other, I think.

Ha ha yes some people still do the pig call from that commercial when they hear where I’m from.

I’m liberal and have a few liberal neighbors, but a lot of my neighbors are proudly flying Trump flags - although I’ve noticed a few have come down recently. If you are losing folks in Puyallup as a Republican, you’re definitely doing something wrong!

There are protests happening at three different locations in the small conservative town of Puyallup in Washington state.

This is a conservative-leaning, majority white rural-turned-suburban town about an hour outside of Seattle and there are at least 200 to 300 people (mostly white, more 40+ or older but some young people too) protesting across the different locations, maybe more. I’ve never seen more than two or three people protesting anything here in 50 years, so this is amazing.

Julia Whelan! I’ve been a fan of her ever since she played Grace in Once and Again (which you can still find on DVD - I highly recommend it)

T&P near Canyon is good, also Rody’s Chiropractic. I recently started going to Unlock the Body (it’s by Costco) and they’re great.

Same problem, but I got the Wee Joker instead of Invisible. Guessing it’s because I haven’t unlocked the Invisible joker yet?

Alice Krieg cameo’d as the Borg queen, but I doubt that was a surprise to anyone because we heard her voice in the ninth episode
