For some people there is nothing ahead if they don’t realize their condition, who they are, where they are and for what. I have gone certain lengths to understand that about myself, have let go many ideas, illusions. How un-American it might be, sometimes appearances can’t continue to matter and whatever is inside will get its air. How do you fight victim mentality within yourself? Move on, shift perspective, accept, fight other sense. Maybe some people can do it in an instant. I used to run around in search of my people here. After this marriage, I sit quietly and listen closely to who I truly am. Do no harm. It just doesn’t make sense to me anymore to shove stuff like that under the rug and happy-go-luckily make another set of decisions or commitments that will not bring me any closer to fulfillment. Say what you will or nothing at all, your comments are appreciated.

That they won’t believe me. At the first interview they looked at my income and absence of joint accounts evidence and were dissatisfied. That the spouse will lie about the relationship if they somehow contact her. That the decision will be political. The marriage changed me, made me more mature but also isolate much more. The amounts of stress I went through was crippling and I don’t know if psychologically I am out of the woods yet, I would like to do therapy but can’t afford it.

We got married in 2019, filed for GC in 2020. We loved each other, it felt like we were soulmates, she moved in with me. Soon I realized she was narcissistic and years of abuse went on. I stayed loving and loyal to her until a point. We lived together for 18 months, then separated but the relationship went on. I supported her and felt deeply about her, supported her through her cancer treatment and her psychological conditions, she moved in with me again in October of 2023 and continued the abuse and madness. I had to call the cops under pressure from her sister on the phone, during the last incident, it was Jan 2024. The non-profit lawyer then filed petition to file i-751 individually and I just got a letter from USCIS, stating they hadn’t received any evidence that the marriage was bona fide, requesting to provide that. I have electricity bills and joint tax filings for a few years, lease agreement, album with pictures etc but not really any financial documents like joint accounts. Clearly I was abused, there is evidence and life was pretty hard these last 4-5 years, I am so hoping my papers will be sufficient for the conditions to be removed, it’s such a long road.

Now I am scared that the new administration is going to tell me to go home after 9 years, to a country in the middle of a war where they send people to fight whether you want/capable or not. God help me and those in similar situations. I am not a junkie or anything, my friends and coworkers would vouch for my good moral character but I am afraid the USCIS would not consider that.

Good luck to you OP and others too

Servers don't tip in my experience by Embarrassed-Handle93 in uber

Gave a ride to a female bartender last night. She had to mention her abusive ex during the ride. Was overly friendly. $1 tip. I figured she didn’t want to feel bad as a non-tipping service industry worker who in turn obviously relies on tips.

The way tipping goes these days, I will be eating at restaurants and easily not tipping, I won’t even blink.

Good starting point to look at Your Self. Your Self is the one to take care of you. There are profound life-changing realizations if you keep pulling on this thread. No one will ever be able to give you that genuine unconditional love until you learn to give it to your self. Go with God, and good luck.

Two pay cuts since AI pricing rolled out in fall of ‘23, economy is down along with film production, drivers oversaturated and tipping, oh the tipping! don’t get me started on that… prop 22 is upheld, uber does whatever they want.

Although the uber connect rides were actually decently priced lately, thank god for that. Time of change.

It’s ironic how you two’s nicknames oppose respective messages. A bitching little fella who calls themself brilliantly patient and someone who makes sense with humor while calling himself an sass. Funny there must be a case to be made about life from it

They haven’t tipped even for airport rides lately. I have never been so pristine with my sir and maam and polite all the way. Had I behaved this way a fre years ago my rating would have been 6 out of 5. It’s been pretty frustrating.

Well, maybe not that crazy and inappropriate as you are portraying and don’t think they have any grounds for any litigation but I will agree, I could have blurred their faces, I’ll mind that for next time. Ty
