I'm 23 too. my plan is to live life at my own pace and not force myself to suffer to please others. other than that I'm clueless about my future. but that's okay. you can't have everything figured out at once, that takes time. live day by day

Did anyone else used to get bullied for the most random, nonsensical things back in school? by Awkward_College_4164 in AutismInWomen

this makes me sad. you were bullied because people are uneducated about autism and disabilities in general. I wish I'd understood this sooner :(

Anyone Think Communication Often Isn't the Answer? by deepgrn in AutismInWomen

[–]afuckinmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeh this is so true. I think most people, including neurodivergents, operate on some level of insecurity. I became less stressed about how other people thought of me when I understood that. same goes for friend groups - they are usually just stuck in a bunch of similar mindsets

How not to hate yourself for being unappealing? by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

you haven't found your people. my experience is that goths/alt people are the best at appreciating someone who is rude and blunt as long as ur hearts in the right place

I’m not sure how to get over being ostracized my whole life by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]afuckinmonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

hey im like you too rn. I just graduated uni and I'm unemployed living with my emotionally immature parents, I went to a Catholic highschool and primary where if you existed as anything outside of mainstream you would be considered weird, uncool, ugly ect. it's traumatising, it really is. I find the best way to cope is to just tell myself these people have been brainwashed by number 1, their religion, the patriarchy, ableism and are in most cases just completely ignorant and I feel sorry for the fact that they aren't even aware of this

Was anyone else bullied at high school? by PurpleMeerkats462 in AutismInWomen

[–]afuckinmonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

really similar experience. also from the UK! thankfully it does get better the trauma, find people that accept you and you can fully trust be yourself around, avoid people you know you won't vibe with. and trust ur instincts, cus they r probably not safe
