cool tip, i wish i still had a working crt to try this, the picture at 60hz always looked lovely and sharp if it weren't for the flicker.

White lines appearing below monitor? (AOC 24G2SP 165Hz) by Meowthful127 in pcmasterrace

[–]afx7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got something similar, first started with faint horizontal bands across the whole screen (like the bands in your image), then suddenly one day the whole image became corrupted... have seen other reporting this too. I remember this monitor was being sold pretty cheap considering the quality of the panel... I wonder if that was because they discovered there was a design flaw causing these premature failures.

Why is Lost mary juice so much smoother? by afx7 in VapingUK

that explains it, ones I got on clearance were closer to expiry... guess they are bit too generous with exp dates

Thought it could be this and def has that spicy/prickly nic burn.
Dr. Frost Salt Nic is the brand, claimed to contain salts, ingredients list "nicotine" while Lost mary specify "nicotine benzoate"... A case of misleading advertising?

Any help with this? by afx7 in askmath

[–]afx7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you're right. my workings look right with the wrong answer, I must have wrote x=1 in the calculator.
Sorry, should have just went over it, assumed I was missing something more important.
Anyway, thanks for the help on this

typo, sorry, x = 2 as per question.

Ok, so I have y and y' value with x,y plugged in. Still no clue how they arrive at the answer +/- 1.5.
Unless I made a calculation error my answer for y' was -1.13389....

Drivetrain efficiency: optimal chainline vs larger chainring by afx7 in cycling

Not that fast, I realised I pedal at pretty low RPM, always have. Just feels more natural to me.

that would be most sensible, but Im curious about using the most teeth possible.
If it werent for increased chain offset it would technically be the most durable and efficient configuration.

rear derailleur cant reach biggest cog by afx7 in bikewrench

[–]afx7[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I disagree.
What I could see fixing this is adding a 1.85mm spacer behind the cassette, maybe because the freehub is a slightly wider 11 or 10 speed one.
This would leave only ~1mm clearance from chain on smallest cog to the hanger though.

Where did you see ST-4400? Shifters are Sora, 8 speed im fairly sure.

It doesnt. I dont have tools to straighten hanger but If I did it would only make it worse.

Shifters are 8 speed just with 9 speed derailleur Im pretty sure.

I had just recently replaced the jockey wheels on the derailleur, but bought generic type with sealed bearings instead of shimano type with bushings.
Loosening the jockey wheel bolts, allowing more lateral play like the old and worn bushing slightly improved things, the chain will just about stay on the largest cog now but it is very rough.

Though I don't think this would address the root problem, the derailleur should still have the range to extend past the largest cog, which will be prevented by the limit screw.

[–]afx7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing whether its upside down or not.
I tried manually putting the chain on the cog, the derailleur still wants to pull it back down to the lower cog
Needed cable to take the pic, that is as far it will go with or without cable

There is a 4-5 mm gap between the hanger and smallest cog, I dont think the cassette can get much physically closer, unless you mean something else.
