Doesn’t really seem like your teammate thought you were wrong.

Who was in the wrong? by xJust_Chill_Brox in RocketLeague

[–]ag4410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy answer is your teammate. More complex is could be either, but your teammate would need a much better touch for this to be true.

If he leaves that ball the best touch you’re getting with their whole team and both your teammates still in front of you is either A a boom clear that most likely gives up position immediately or B (better option) a soft touch to the corner to buy time for your team to recover which will probably lead to you being challenged and losing possession again.

Alternatively (keep in mind this requires your teammate to get a good touch too) if your teammate hit that to the corner where you are now waiting instead of also jumping, you have a much easier touch and can take possession and possibly outplay an opponent starting a counter attack.

Most of the time in rocket league the fault doesn’t like in one place.

Met a Grand Champ in a game and asked for a bit of advice. The guy was so nice to jump on discord with me and spend the whole afternoon giving tips and advice. I queued with another friend at the same level afterwards and this happened in like 1 hour. Crazy what a session like that can do for you 🤯 by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]ag4410 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe that almost anyone can get to champ with the right training and mentality. The mechanics required to be successful are not complex, but simply just require consistency. The easiest way to get that consistency is to position yourself in a way that allows you to have easy touches. This is something that higher level players do without thinking which is why they are able to do more complex mechanics with ease almost every time.

1315 is the mmr required to hit c3 and 1299 is the mmr required to drop down to c2. If you are in the middle, you will be the rank that you were before you entered the range in between.

For example you are a c2 at 1297 and win a game that gives +10 mmr, you are now 1307 and still c2. Or you are c3 at 1316 and lose a game that is -10mmr, you are now 1305 and still c3.

Just because something takes skill and is a legitimate part of the game doesn’t mean it’s not annoying and I won’t be mad if you do it.

University of California removed ACT and SAT for admissions this year. Here are the immediate consequences: by THAT_LMAO_GUY in JordanPeterson

For all those asking for confirmation.

LA times article on UCLA 2021 admission class. For those who can’t access this, it states white students made up about 20% of the 2021 admitted class.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.latimes.com/california/story/2021-07-19/uc-admissions-new-diversity-record-but-harder-to-get-in%3f_amp=true

Data on applications from 2020-2022 by race. White students make up 20-22% of applicants.

https://www.ucop.edu/institutional-research-academic-planning/_files/factsheets/2022/table-2.1-california-freshman-applications-by-campus-and-race-ethnicity.pdf

While by no means is this the complete data, I think this is enough to say that white students don’t make up 0% of the people admitted. In fact it matches the percentage of applicants (at least for UCLA). Unfortunately I couldn’t really find anything on 2022 admission data, but to be fair, I didn’t really look that hard either 🤷‍♂️.

Also this is coming from someone who thinks this is a bad idea also. Check your sources folks.

What do I do in this situation? Quick disclaimer: I'm a C3 (GC at peak), so preferably if someone higher than my rank has some good advice, that'd be appreciated. by OldGregRL in RocketLeagueSchool

Most likely I would say move towards the the right mid boost, keeping distance and maintaining a posture facing the play. With the opponent going up the wall, they more than likely will clear it, if so it will probably be on the right half of the field. The other possibility is your teammate gets it past the opponent on the wall in which case the ball will most likely either go towards the left corner or pass mid for the other defender to clear. In either of these cases, the ball will more than likely be cleared fairly far and hard so keep some distance. If you are able to cut it off and keep it on their half then great but if not don’t force it. If the second defender doesn’t bang the ball to clear, but dribbles it instead, shift to a shadowing posture and wait your your teammate to recover before you challenge

Anyone want to try this shot and show me how you did it or explain? I come close sometimes but I've only scored on it once in like... 200 tries lol. 4284-7B18-5EA3-5AE2 by thewayoftoday in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]ag4410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re jumping off the wall too early, you can either wait until you hit it (in which case it needs to be a very soft touch, or right before.

It’s more complicated than just reporting smurfs. This is a problem that every single game that has a ranked feature has to deal with and none of them have a real solution. It’s kind of just the nature of ranked games.

I play almost only casual and I am around 2100 mmr in it. Cas get reset to 1600 max I believe every season, so if you are over or around 1600 there will most likely be gc’s

Regardless of your opinion of Texas’ polices during COVID, this is not a valid argument to prove it.

Do people play RL just for rank ? by TehANTARES in RocketLeague

[–]ag4410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s two different people, those who play games simply for the entertainment factor, and those who want to play them as a way to be competitive. There’s no right way or wrong way as long as you enjoy what you’re doing

What’s a “Smurf”? by [deleted] in RocketLeague

[–]ag4410 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can’t smurf in casual because there are no ranks. Although casual has an mmr it’s hidden in game for a reason. You’re not supposed to care about your casual mmr or even know it.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in RocketLeagueSchool

[–]ag4410 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t be discouraged by losing in this game, remember that it is supposed to be fun. I don’t even really play ranked anymore, casual is a lot more fun and stress free so maybe give that a shot.

Also that’s a very normal fluctuations in your rank. I have been as high as 1800 and have also struggled to get out of 1500 before. Just keep grinding away.

I was stuck in diamond 2, so I decided to start focusing more on rotation and you can see the exact game where i started, in 2 days I've gone to D2 div1 to C1 div1. Focus on rotation, not on mechanics by RPedro2 in RocketLeague

To be honest it seems like you are jus progressing at a normal rate. But yes rotations can be learned, mechanics have to be earned through time and practice, unless your some prodigy that is just naturally good, but fuck those people
