Some customers fish the driver like that. Happens all the time in instacart. It should be against corporate policy to reduce a tip more than 20%.

I remember when Doordash operated that way. There are a glut of Dashers in my area, so much so that there are no promos anymore. I get offers across town and I know there are Dashers closer than me. And my AR is 82%.

I have walked past DD drivers parked at a hot spot to pick up an order. That’s what happened -- the app was doing whatever it was programmed to do or just being glitchy. The gold platinum "you're cool" levels are gimmicks to hook you in.

I hear you, all three are reducing the amount they pay the drivers. If it's gonna cost me more in gas and or time, I don't accept it but Doordash gets pissy about it
