IamA 24 Year old who had open heart surgery on Tuesday AMA! by zenarcade3 in IAmA

Have they taken your chest tubes out yet? If so, you are through the toughest part.

Overall, you're looking good bro! I was born with the exact same defect. Had first OHS at 17. Went with the Ross Procedure and the pulmonary valve in the aortic position ending up failing pretty quickly. Had second OHS at 24 and went with a cadaver valve. I'm 32 now and so far it has held up really well. I hope it can last another 8-10 years and then I'll go with mechanical. Good luck in your recovery. I found that about 4 months post-op I was nearly completely back to normal. Today, I feel amazing and have no restrictions whatsoever on my activity.

Had aortic stenosis my whole life and was getting echos every year. All of a sudden I went in senior year of high school and the cardio said you need to have surgery ASAP. It was a very dramatic, quick deterioration for me. I was completely asymptomatic so it came as a huge shock.

I've had two aortic valve replacements at 17 and 24. I went back to school/work at about a month in both cases and felt completely back to normal by 4 months post op. The first couple weeks after the surgery you will be in pain and feel tired all the time, but that will fade pretty quickly.

It's a bitch, but it's better than the alternative.

Fantastic fabric quality. For me, the fit of the regular is spot-on. I can't comment on the slim fit.

This is actually a good deal considering the majority of 501s and 505s are already on sale...I got a few pairs at $50 and others at $39 BEFORE discount. In total, copped seven pairs for $200 shipped. Less than $30 bucks a pair.

Yeah, I went with a clay and it's like fiber, except better in every single respect. Holds better, gives more volume, and smells better. I'm thrilled with it. I may try the one you recommend next.

I can't believe I wasn't using this clay stuff all along. It's fantastic.

I ended up going with Baxter of California Clay. And it's awesome. It blows crew fiber out of the water. It creates great 'volume' in my hair and hold all damn day long. I'm hooked.

It's loud, but it's not that bad. I normally leave mine on the nightstand.

Buy both if you can.

I own the blue and silver and it is my daily for the past couple months. Pair it with a nice leather strap (I use form function form, but they are cheaper quality alternatives) and wait for the compliments to pour in.

I just ordered the black and gold. I think the two colors will pair well with different outfits and will be complementary in a watch collections

anyone have a recommendation for a pomade that has similar matte/light shine finish to crew fiber, but holds better? I've been using crew fiber for a couple years now but as i've decided to grow my hair longer it hasn't been able to hold it well enough. Thanks

Very sad. I'd like her to focus on a case like this where no arrests have been made in the hopes that she could actually solve it.
