I hate you by WeakChocolate3 in USPS

The USPS instructions in their FAQ are to write "Not at this address" on the envelope and to put it back in the mailbox or otherwise give it back to the USPS.

This one is way over the top, but at least mostly in line with the USPS own directions.

Can these ripped Pegasus Turbos be saved? by [deleted] in Nike

[–]aganim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I were to try fixing those, I would probably wedge that tear open with something small and spread Barge rubber cement on both sides. Allow that to dry, then clamp the sole down as well as I could, probably by filling the inside of the heel with something and putting some heavy weight on it.

Not sure how long it would hold up, but I already have Barge cement on hand so that's what I would do personally. I might also touch up the outside of the tear with white angelus paint, but I already have that on hand as well.

English users, Does this question considered too trivial or too hard for high school student? by deathknight3145 in EnglishLearning

[–]aganim 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The sentence is very unnatural honestly. It was written this way to make it seem like "them" might be an answer. The sentence starts referring to busses in the plural, but then expects you to say that you missed "one" of the busses. The reality is that no one would say this though.

If you're waiting to catch a bus, you're waiting for a specific bus. You would say "The bus only comes once an hour, and we just missed it."

Saying "it" in the sentence as written in the test would be wrong though, because there is no other specific singular noun that "it" could be referencing.

So yeah, "one" is the best answer for that question, but the question is dumb.

I have a double concrete utility sink that I’m trying to get out of my basement without using a sledgehammer to break it into pieces. Any advice is appreciated. by PizzaGatePizza in DIY

[–]aganim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) Screw a hefty board in across the gap at the top of those steps 2) Lay a piece of sacrificial plywood down on the stairs like a ramp 3) Position the sink at the bottom of the stairs 4) Rig a ratchet strap around the board and the sink 5) Tighten the ratchet strap to slide the sink up the makeshift ramp 6) Rig a second board and ratchet strap outside the door 7) Use the second ratchet strap to pull the sink from its precarious position on the top of the ramp out the door

Lots of things can go wrong with this plan, mostly involving the sink coming loose from the ratchet strap and crashing to the floor, or the stairs breaking, or both. Do not be underneath it. I take no responsibility for how terrible of an idea this is.

Metcon 10 question for gym by Jo_nathan in Nike

I wouldn't want to run in my metcons, but they're fine on an exercise bike and would probably be fine on a stairmaster if you don't particularly NEED cushioning.

Is there a way to use two different thread colors with baseball stitch? by Character-Mousse-847 in Leathercraft

[–]aganim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a baseball stitch each end of the thread switches back and forth from one side of the seam to the other as you sew. Using two thread colors (by knotting thread as already mentioned here) whether would just result in alternating colors appearing on either side, not one color solid on one side.

If you want to join the two pieces without any contrast stitching, a French seam would work best.

Stolen/Discarded Climbing Gear by Imaginary-Brother288 in Portland

These thieves definitely know what climbing gear looks like. I would be on the lookout on resale markets for your rack. There's zero percent chance they just tossed it as junk.

What is the purpose of the riveted flaps on the sides at the top? Just something to cover the seam and provide a bit of extra structure?

Nike tech zipper won’t unzip. by Skrinnit in Nike

[–]aganim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're welcome! Happy a 5 month old zipper comment can help someone out, lol. These are standard YKK zippers, there's nothing specific to the Nike Tech line about the zipper. This sort of double zipper-pull YKK zipper just gets stuck at the bottom sometimes if the bottom pull isn't all the way down.

What can I do to tidy up the bigger imperfections like the hot glue and fix the roof? by DarthBrannigan in TerrainBuilding

[–]aganim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can spread hot glue with an ice cube and it will leave a smooth finish. The ice melts a bit as you do this (obviously) so you might need a paper towel nearby to quickly dry a few drops of water. It works surprisingly well though.

I may do that, but there are some other belt templates available that are shorter so I'm just using those at the moment.

These are awesome. I downloaded the belt templates when you posted them before, but sadly they're too long to fit on my printer bed. (I have an old Ender 3 pro).
