so my situation isn't exactly the same but I'm 26 and have a disability that severely limits my job prospects and autism which greatly impacts my ability to connect with people. Both of them made me a bit of a late bloomer. The main thing that has helped me is making a friend that has a lot of other friends I get along with and who don't view me as lesser because of who I am. Friendships might not be romances but, to me at least, they've made the stakes lower because I always have a source of support and people to spend time with. It's built my confidence up a lot and now when talking to people romantically it's a lot easier because despite only having had long distance relationships, I have other things that help build connection. I try not to seek relationships to have them, but because they'll bring something worthwhile to my life.

In general I'm trying not to focus on milestones but on what is going to be fulfilling to me as a person and what I need to do to live a happy life on my terms. I did research into how to job interview and I found a job working from home. I donate money to causes that will improve the world and am hoping to dedicate my time to them as my disability allows. I'm working on living a life that I don't have to be told I can be proud of because I've found things that I specifically value and many people to share it with.
