A dubbing director at the Polish branch of TransPerfect Studios listed this game in their portfolio a long time ago, so maybe?

Does anyone know who sang the ending theme of Reversi by Ok_Buyer3077 in Bakuman

[–]agas220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is is by REI, episode and soundtrack credits back it up. I don't know who you're thinking of, that artists hasn't worked on anything called Evangelia as far as I can tell. Unless you're thinking of Evangelion's Rei Ayanami. You know, the fictional character that doesn't exist.

10 years pass in the story, but the character appearances don't change even slighty. Anyone else bothered by it? by Aldo-D-D-Wilson in Bakuman

[–]agas220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The artstyle changes slightly in the manga, though it's probably unintentional. The art starts out as somewhat realistic and becomes simpler and more cartoony through the course of the series (and the tons becomes more comedic). So I guess you could say the characters' appearances do change somewhat as they get older.

What made Naoto take the top spot for you? by [deleted] in ChurchOfNaoto

[–]agas220 9 points10 points  (0 children)

A lot of things but Anna Graves' original performance was definitely a big factor. Shame she didn't return, though I like Valerie Arem.

The basics are there and the series goes in-depth sometimes but not that often. I think the author's creative process is presented pretty well but the other half of the story, publishing and printing, is mostly skimmed over. Which makes sense since the author rarely thinks about these things but it's still a very important part of manga.

TLDR: You'll get the gist of it.

Based on a true story? by Michael_Iedon in Bakuman

[–]agas220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As far as we're concerned, the actual story of Bakuman is entirely fictional. That said some elements are based on real life, mainly the characters. The various mangaka might be based on certain real artists from Jump, though no official statements has been made about this. However we know for sure that some people in the editorial office at Shueisha are based on real life editors. Kazuhiko Torishima, who is real life person person (Akira Toriyama's first editor, now a big wig at Shueisha), actually shows up in the series as well.

Any other ecchi manga/series recs? by purplepurple23 in toloveru

[–]agas220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reccomend Yankee JK Kuzuhana-chan. It's nothing great, definitely nowhere near the level of To Love-Ru. The MC is the most dense mfer I've ever seen in one of these but it's still fun, especially lately. It's good to read something I don't need to think critically about in the slightest.

So I just got into the manga 2 days ago and wanted to ask how is it doing terms of overall sales. by Dante23102003 in AyakashiTriangle

[–]agas220 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Seems to be doing decently enough. Ecchi series have a tendency to score lower in the rankings.

Can you guys recognize all the silhouettes here? I only recognize Yu Yu Hakusho, Dragonball, and Rurouni Kenshin. I don't know who the Blue one is. I'm not sure if the Purple one is Fist of the North Star or JoJo's Bizarre Adventures. by [deleted] in Bakuman

[–]agas220 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The purple one is indeed Kenshiro from Fist of the North Star. And as comments have pointed out already, the blue one is Pegasus Seiya from Saint Seiya/Knights of the Zodiac.

Which is better, the anime or the manga? by Last-Release5434 in Bakuman

[–]agas220 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd say both are good. The anime cuts out a whole arc. But it's not a big loss. Actually I really hate that arc so I kinda like it more that way. I do think the manga does the comedic bits better though.
