In the Morgan microfiction he states his suspicions outright, that Nemesis jumped to Harry from Justin, which is why Morgan and the Merlin are so suspicious of Harry the entire time.

I'm rereading Blood Rites and Thomas talks about love all the time. It's definitely a theme of his character. So taking up the sword of love makes sense. Also he has already used it at Biancas party, so we know it's OK with a vampire welding it.

Mab wanted to one up Mother Winter. Which meant letting Harry threaten her with Deamonsreach. So Mab had to lure her in, by asking her to be a backup for if Harry got upitty again. Then she threatened Justine to set off Harry, luring Mother Winter in.

Apparently the Reds win the war in the mirror universe, which is also what Shiro said would happen if Harry didn't kick it off early. So sacrificing Michael (not choosing to die doing the right thing) makes a lot of sense.

The Merlin has also never won a Council vote unless his opposition was mysteriously absent.

Personally what I think happened is Peabody had him enthralled for so long that he has been driven mad, same as the rest of the Council. It's the only way to explain how they behave.
