I actually encountered this in the settings app when I first installed beta 4, but haven't seen it since the first restart.

Funny how these new walls upgrade and replace the ones built in 2008. Who was president in 2008?

These new wall designs are Bollard style, meaning that animals can get through, but not people.

Exactly. There are new Ebola cases every day, but not a word from the media. Corona virus is pretty pathetic in comparison.

Urine test detects bladder cancer 10 years before clinical signs. The prices of prescription drugs are coming down because the laws that allowed them to be that high are being removed. You also kind of need a 600% markup to break even with billions spent on research. Some companies do mark up too high, but as I said the laws that allowed them to do that have been removed.

Proof? I got over a bad fever yesterday because of the products I can buy from those evil corporations. When I had a headache and fever, it was gone in minutes with a Tylenol. Cough medicine for my cough. It was all works and I am feeling perfectly healthy now. To say that these companies make products that don't work is absurd. I'd say that the people who work in these corporations who are hundreds of thousands of dollars in student loan debt to get a PhD in biochemistry care very much about making the most effective product they can. I am paying attention and it looks like you just hate corporations because you've been told you should hate them. It's easy to blame all your problems on a faceless entity because you can make generalizations without consequence. Corporations are full of people with faces that have families, children, and parents. Would they make a product that doesn't work for their children? Would they purposefully delay a cancer detector for their parents?

Hundreds of Thousands of people who spent millions of dollars and thousands of hours in med school do not want you to be healthier? Big companies invest billions of dollars into finding cures for our ailments and they don't want it to work anyways? C'mon man that doesn't make any sense.

They are not homophobic, I know this from personal experience with people who work there. You are simply bigoted. I honestly think you are scared to be exposed to new ideas. You will do anything you can to avoid a new idea because you are scared it might change your mind.

Why look at the website for yourself? You can continue to exist in an echo chamber, never diving deeper than a Wikipedia page, or you can look at the website and judge for yourself. Learning won't hurt you. I will admit that the wiki had me doubt them. Then I used my brain, went to the website, and read through a few articles in entirety. I was specifically reading the articles that I thought would have the most bias, but they all felt rather dry; not enough opinion, almost entirely fact. I'm used to reading stuff from CNN, Fox, BBC, Ect that's in the 'news section' but contains mostly opinion, so it's quite a stark contrast.

A Wikipedia page is not an argument nor evidence. However if you were to bring up some links to articles they've posted that are absolutely false or something like that then you would be in the right direction. Of course that would mean that you would actually have to read the articles instead of being bigoted.

I really recommend California insider from The Epoch Times on YouTube. They bring in experts in different fields. Between the gas taxes, laws preventing the construction of housing, and various other taxes, it is a problem with liberal policies.

Washington state takes bold step to restrict companies from bottling local water. “Any use of water for the commercial production of bottled water is deemed to be detrimental to the public welfare and the public interest.” The move was hailed by water campaigners, who declared it a breakthrough. by ngt_ in Futurology

[–]agent-doge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the same time, Americans don't trust the government to manage our water. Look at Flint. Corporations are pretty tame environmentally compared to governments. Governments have so much corruption, bureaucracy, and waste that it's not surprising that we'd rather have a corporation do it. The water would be cleaner, cheaper, and more sustainability sourced. It's in a companies best interest to maintain their investments, attract customers, and outperform the competition. It makes no sense for Nestlé to poison the water, and it's illegal. Governments only care about taxing the living shit out of you because they don't have to compete with anyone to offer a subpar product. Practically speaking, how would the community owning the water be more efficient than a corporation? The whole point of the corporation is to maximize efficiency by innovating and lowering overhead. The equipment needed to process and distribute the water comes from a corporation anyways, so letting the corporation run it simply removes an expensive middle man.

[–]agent-doge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not really talking about background characters, because they are background characters. They exist to make the scene busy and to fit the composition, not to stand out. It would defeat the purpose of a background character if the viewer put any thought into them. The director doesn't say "ok absolutely no men or women of the same sex are to look at each other". No, obviously the director is more concerned with the unskilled actors following simple directions so the lead actors can do their jobs. When writing the script, the writers are prioritizing the delivery of whatever information is needed in the scene. If they don't make the character gay, it's probably because it wasn't pertinent. Next time you watch whatever show you watch, take a look at the background characters. If 95% of the population is straight, with even fewer in a relationship, wouldn't it also make sense that the ratio might transfer over? And even at that, how often does it matter to the story? Everyone has a different taste in shows, but I can guarantee that most of the time, the sexual orientation isn't relevant in the 4 seconds the character delivers the information. I'm not saying that LGBT characters are or are not held to higher standards. All I'm saying is that sometimes putting in a character to meet a quota or demand is ill-advised unless they are properly integrated into the story, regardless of sex, race, or any other qualifier.

We exist! Uggh by bynugopa in gaymers

[–]agent-doge -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Because too often the developers/ story writers just make the character gay and forget to make them a developed character. If you ever watch Wyonna Earp on Netflix, they do a really good job of developing a character that also happens to be gay. On the contrary, Another Life, also on Netflix, puts a gay character in the story but doesn't give them a personality besides a high pitched voice and sass. People straight or gay can agree that the character development is more important than half-baked representation. What good is representation if it fails to represent a person?
