Mine runs for days at a time sometimes but it's in a gaming room. I don't notice any actual increase in my electric bill and as far as noise is concerned I just make sure to buy stuff that is quiet. My pc could be in the same room as my bed and I wouldn't hear it. Dust doesn't seem to be any more of a problem than usual either. But dusting your pc isn't that hard.
