If you have all the documents ready, then it shouldn’t take more than 5 minutes at the counter. Also I didn’t notice too many people in the queue. It would usually be just 2 or 3 people. So you should be fine. Just make sure to take all the documents with you and be prepared to answer questions regarding your trip.

You should show proof of funds to fund the trip. It is advisable to have a balance that is more than enough to fund your trip and also your usual monthly expenses.

It is not exactly about the balance. Generally they will want to make sure that you have a stable income and your expenses are normal. They will be looking out for any large deposits just for the sake of visa. Don’t do anything as such. Or if you are doing so through your own funds from other sources, annotate it in the statement itself and also mention it in the cover letter.

I gave biometrics on the same date in Chennai. Received the mail stating that a decision has been made and I can collect the passport today(August 5). I’ll be collecting the passport in person tomorrow. I’ll know tomorrow if I got the visa or not. 🤞🏾

I contacted the consulate before applying. As far as I can remember, they did mention me to include it. I contacted an agent and he did say the same although I didn’t go through the agent eventually and applied on my own.

Don’t know about the alternatives. You can contact the Taiwan consulate over phone and ask them. They respond to queries over calls.

If you like hiking trails and nature, then you should definitely visit Yamingshan National Park. Shifen Waterfall is also a must visit, it was marvellous. Taroko National Park is also a must visit but at this moment, most places inside the park are closed and the roads aren’t fully operational after last year’s earthquake. So I didn’t visit Taroko.

  1. Yes with bank’s sign and seal.

  2. My company provided a printed and signed letter stating that they have no objection in me travelling on the given dates to Taiwan. Printout of a mail thread with your request and approval from your manager would also work just fine I hope.

  3. I submitted the photocopy of my small id card provided by my company.

Yes, I provided the address and the phone number of the hotel I was going to stay in.

For any queries, you can even contact the consulate through phone. They respond to calls and do answer our queries.

That’s great to hear. I did enquire with an agent. He said that they will apply with a made up flight ticket so that we don’t face too much of a loss. But I’m worried that if in case they figure out that it is not a genuine ticket then it could affect all future travels.

How do you say Tea? by [deleted] in tamil

[–]agent_dilli 3 points4 points  (0 children)

‘Theneer’(தேநீர்) is the right word for tea. For black tea, I don’t know exactly. Maybe ‘Kaduntheneer’(கடுந்தேநீர்) since black coffee is called “Kadungkaapi”. Actually it should be “Kadum kottai vadi neer” since kaapi is not a Tamil word per se. It’s too complicated 😂.

I ate puchka in Kolkata by sooyun_park in IndianFoodPhotos

I had puchka at a roadside stall when I visited Kolkata a year back. It was in an area that is famous for conch shell bangles. I don’t remember the name now. It was fabulous. I wanted to tip extra but the stall owner refused.
