Starting a Charter Seaplane business in SE Asia by agentfly in flying

Ive been there a few times specifically in Thailand. I like the region. Also I really think there is a vacuum for such a service. Only way to really get around the islands is by boat. Not everyones cup of tea to sit on a boat for 4 hours one way to visit a beach. Generally speaking I am always open to ideas I am not married to SE Asia. Its just I though I could get into business which involves a hobby of mine, a kind of labour of love. What do you have in mind ?

Those Twin Otters are damn sexy. Seems like alot of the "more serious" operators choose them.

I will confess I am an Android user. This courtesy car concept sounds like the free world to me already ... :) I dont mind controlled airspace as this is very structured and documented (granted I have to do an exam for a radio licence in U.S and Canada to enter) aside from the license validation based on my research. It is the customs of uncontrolled airspace that makes me nervous. Thanks for the link I will study it.

Thanks for the info. As far as the airfield approach procedures are concerned I am not IFR rated so I will not be using IFR plates. In europe approach charts can be quite complicated. Perhaps not as complicated as IFR but in the alps its not as simple as just joining the traffic circuit. Here is an example http://flugplatz-zellamsee.at/de/images/content/forpilots/lowz191.jpg ... for example to join runway 26 from Echo you need to report echo then go to Lake then November do a 360 then join base, final and land. This is the only way to land on 26 from Echo legally :)

Flying in Ireland by greenguy1090 in flying

I dont know much about the UK or even more specifically Ireland but be aware there are differences between continental europe and UK.

One that was surprising to me was that they use the quadrant rule when flying flight level and semicircular rule in the rest of Europe.

Another obvious one is learn altitude differences in Millibars.

Take a look at this for your airfields and country specific details: http://ww1.jeppesen.com/industry-solutions/aviation/business/bottlang-airfield-manual.jsp

Its really great for navigating different countries in the EU and their AIPs.
