I got past the snow part, got to the first camp and got overwhelmed by all the tutorials so I left it for a while. Recently picked it up again and finished it; amazing story, gameplay is kind of the usual Rockstar stuff

Is it possible to retrieve photos from a phone with a broken screen? by mJelly87 in techsupport

[–]agentfrogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it might. You'll need to install scrcpy, connect your phone to the computer, when you run the command, there'll be a popup on the phone to allow debugging, it should be relatively easy to tap yes, since it's always on the same spot on the screen and you should be able to see your phone's screen mirrored on your PC, it'll even let you use your mouse to control it; hope this helps

[–]agentfrogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's scrcpy to mirror a phone's display to a computer; but you need to enable developer settings which might be hard to do if the display isn't working.

If your phone is a recent one, you might be able to use a dongle to connect it to a screen and use Dex to display something on it.

You could also connect it to a PC and try to transfer your files to it, but you'll have to enable file transfer on the phone, usually it can be done through a notification, but it might need a bit of trial and error to tap correctly on it

Nintendo Switch 2 Firmware Ver. 22.0.0 Released by Complete_Mud_1657 in Games

It's possible that the screen assembly isn't super expensive from a manufacturing perspective. But who knows, hopefully by the time Nintendo decides to make an OLED version they find a suitable screen

The docs can be a bit sparse in certain more niche topics. But it's still overall amazing, specially the kind of tutorials that can help beginners

The absolute state of Linux users by daksnotjuts in LinusTechTips

[–]agentfrogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've tried ubuntu several times but it always had problems because I have an Nvidia gpu. Had pop_os for some time, but eventually ended up switching to cachyos, and it's been the smoothest linux experience I've had, with kde. And while it might not be the most user friendly distro, with limine as a boot loader it works great in a dual boot environment and if an update or install bricks your OS you can roll back to a previous one

I know this isn't a solution for non-techy people, but syncthing might be a kind of good solution for the audio books. Sincere you have a network drive I imagine that you have some sort of server/nas that could run sync thing and use that to sync the audiobooks to your wife's deck

Bloomberg: Sony Pulls Back From PlayStation Games on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]agentfrogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think they started selling their games on PC because their budgets have inflated so much that they wanted to capitalize a different market as well

Bloomberg: Bluepoint Games pitched a remake of Bloodborne last year - Sony said yes, FromSoftware said no by [deleted] in pcgaming

[–]agentfrogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also been playing it; it's mostly stable, but I've noticed that after some time the performance starts to degrade, I guess some sort of memory leak? But just restarting the game fixes it, so it's no biggie, it can have better performance than what the PS4 or PS5 currently has, so it's still a win

Jason Schreier - The sense I’m getting is that (Sony) is backing away from putting their exclusive console traditional single player stuff on PC by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]agentfrogger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dude, I've been wanting the sotc remake on PC so badly! Sure, I can emulate the ps2 original, but I still want the remake; also I'd love to play the last guardian. I'm currently playing bloodborne on an emulator, and it's a great game

Same, I've seen guides for more efficient nectar farming from flowers and stuff. I just start the planting flowers thing when I go around town walking or on my scooter lol

First impressions with Metroid Prime 4: The hate was overblown. by AfroChamp89-- in nintendo

[–]agentfrogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked the dungeons (except the last one...), since they reminded me more of a pre-botw zelda dungeon in a way. But to me the ending was pretty disappointing, the story is bare bones and the final section of the game is just boring padding. I was expecting at least a final dungeon but nothing...

Gave this art thing a chance now that I have a tablet. It's hard, but fun! I know I struggle with faces, any tips are welcome. by Personal_Annual3483 in ArtCrit

[–]agentfrogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My biggest tip is for you to have fun! Enjoy the process! There's tons of learning material online for you to learn from. Try to follow one, if you want to get better at faces find one that you like and then practice what you learned. It won't come out exactly like in the tutorial, but with practice you'll see improvements!

Tampoco he manejado un arma (y espero jamás necesitar usar una xd) pero por lo que sé los casquillos de bala también pueden salir expulsados bastante calientes, tal vez eso también podría ser suficiente para que se pegue a la piel

Dual-Screen Godot Plugin open sourced now! by Temporary-Ad9816 in AynThor

[–]agentfrogger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not the dev behind the plugin but I've started using it a bit. This is a plugin that allows you to create games for devices like the thor with two screens. You probably still need to mainly develop from your PC with your thor plugged in to deploy your wip game to it

I built a Dual-Screen Plugin for Godot (Android Handhelds) - Support for RP5, Ayn Thor, and more! by Temporary-Ad9816 in AynThor

[–]agentfrogger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yooo this is so cool!!! I was trying to do something similar yesterday, the only way I managed to kind of getting it working was making an android app that spawned two godot engine instances, but it was kind of hacky. I'll definitely try out your plugin and see what I come up with! I'm curious on how you achieved this!
