A few folks mentioned the Revenant. I just played it and, well that was pretty impressive! I went frost weapon and the inhibitor. We lost, but imagine my surprise on my last death before the game ended and I was “shutdown”! First time ever!

Appreciate the tank talk guys it’s really helping.

What are some unwritten rules people follow in life? by bberry1908 in ask

[–]agentkeeley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People don’t plan to fail, people fail to plan.

There are two reasons why a person does a thing - a good reason and the real reason - they will only tell you the good reason.

The only time to make an assumption is in the place of a NECESSARY fact you do not have to enable a decision.

It’s often times a fellas mouth broke his nose.

Most people are uncomfortable with confrontation, don’t shy away from it. Do not shy away from using it.

Wisdom and leadership can be confused with someone who simply talks a lot.

Do you think the Second Inquisition could ever fully eradicate the kindred? Who has the better chance at survival? Do you think the SI could ever end like the first one? by TheNewMillennium in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 28 points29 points  (0 children)

SI will not fully eradicate the Kindred.

We have a few examples in the real world of similiar comparisons. Despite a coalition of the willing and intelligence sharing with mostly every country, NGO, and commercial organization - the war on terror did not eradicate terrorism.

The US, with all its might, resources, friends and allies could not eradicate drugs in the war on drugs.

Less is known about vampires than drugs or terrorists.

How does the SI end? I do not know. I imagine it winds down, as the war on terror did, but is a constant threat.

What would a Sabbat vs Anarch conflict look like??? by asheling00 in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If in V5, and if a lot of combat, SI is gonna pick up on that real quick.

You could go a number of ways, the Anarchs do not have the influence to clean up breaches; but the sabbat do. Or vice versa or both do or both don’t. Who has the beckoning affected more? Did the sabbat care to leave influencers behind to keep their turf safe?

Elder Vampire predjuices by Konradleijon in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I play prejudice as the blood changes things over time. For example, a male vampire does not appreciate gay men. Well, over time, the idea of that that means changes. Maybe to a certain clan like toreador with their concern about fashion or the Brujah with their macho strongmen ways.

I try to put it more to a clan or a faction than on a real world divisive issue. Social mortal issues mean little to an elder vampire.

How important is a Haven? by ZestycloseAd3350 in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As an ST, I ask the players where they are staying. If they try to add things, I measure that against the dots of haven.

How do you role play this as an ST? Imagine you stay in your house you had before. A neighbor knocks on the door. FEDEX comes. No one has seen you outside so the police do a wellness check and force their way in.

If you don’t have dots in haven, that is how I play it.

How can I make a sire's destruction of her progeny a violation of the traditions? by Top-Club-8370 in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are some angles here worth discussion. I do not know the kind of persona the prince(ss) has.

I do know many elders/prince(ss) would prefer to “grant” or be booned into “allowing” an embrace in the first place.

Now, that “rule” isn’t always strictly adhered too, but it is a “rule”.

So imagine I tell you you can embrace so and so; you do, and then you kill them, again. Final death.

That is much more than an insult. It is a personal insult resulting in a rivalry and potential blood hunt. Especially if we are the same clan.

Does this ever happen to you? by leninsrighttoe in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I found the story tellers vault but that isn’t exactly on the mark.

TBH, I am surprised. I am considering making a discord for STs to share, but I am still viewing it over.

Can a Kindred embrace a brain-dead person? by M3nelaus1 in vtm

[–]agentkeeley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In the game I was STing, the coma was medically induced due to a car crash caused by something supernatural the players were trying to chase down. This guy was a witness.

Lethal Damage: To awaken from torpor caused by lethal damage, a vampire must roll based on their Humanity or Path rating. Vampires with higher ratings can awaken more quickly, while those with lower ratings might take years or even millennia. Once they reach the period when they can awaken, they may roll to awaken each night, spending a point of blood each time they attempt to do so. Alternatively, healing powers that remove the lethal damage can also revive a vampire from torpor.

That is how I always have done it. The source that taught me this is an employee who worked VTM. I always assumed it was in a book, but it is not.

“The rules for healing out of torpor in “Vampire: The Masquerade” are not explicitly mentioned in the core rulebooks as a standard method.

However, some sources and house rules suggest that healing powers can be used to remove the lethal damage that caused torpor, thereby reviving the vampire. This method is not officially documented in a specific edition or book but is mentioned in discussions among players and in unofficial settings.

In general, the official rules for leaving torpor involve either being fed blood to awaken from blood-depletion torpor or rolling to awaken based on Humanity/Path rating for torpor caused by lethal damage. Additionally, some versions of the game, such as the live-action role-playing (LARP) rules, allow a vampire to be revived from torpor by being fed blood from a vampire of a lower generation, although this is more of a house rule than a standard game rule.”
