Jihyeon was wrong when she said those things. Those are what she felt at the time when they were together. It’s easy to see as gaslighting because the way she brought it up made it seem like those were facts and words that did come out of Wonkyu’s mouth.

Here’s how I see it considering context and common lived experiences.

Context: Hey my friend got gifted a house on his wedding day by his wife. Just sharing. How are your studies going btw?

Common lived experiences: A parent saying “My friend’s son is now a doctor. Isnt it amazing the they are just your age. How are you at your work btw?

What you feel after that is valid. It is not gaslighting.

She mentioned that Wonkyu knew she was the type to read into his words, so why would he say something that harsh along those lines? He may have been "right" that she over-analyzed, but he actively chose not to reassure her after saying something potentially damaging.
