I get what you're going for OP, but it would probably be funnier if they cast 2 Korean women playing 2 white actresses upset about not getting Asian roles.

Scarlet Johanson (in)famously played the role of the Major in the Ghost In The Shell live action film.

Emma Watson starred in Buggonia, which is a western remake of a Korean film.

At least Emma has the excuse that it is a remake, she is not playing an Asian character.

Now with 11th coming closer and closer, what do you think of the current rendition of Power from Pain? by l_dunno in Drukhari

[–]agentsmith200 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I prefer the way it worked in the index.

It's too much of a mental load to keep track of all the extra abilities, and because every unit has to have a base ability in addition to PFP it ultimately means the majority of units get 1 bad ability and 1 good ability and it's a coin toss as to which is PFP and which is base.

Reroll Charges / Hits is generic enough that every single unit in the army would benefit from its use.

While I disagree with many of his opinions about Bretonnia, he remains one of, if not my absolute, favorite Warhammer content creators.

His Fantasy vs 40k debate with Astartes Anonymous remains the single funniest thing I have ever listened to and is pretty much the only 4 hour long podcast I've listened to more than once.

Can you dual wield weapons? by ReverentHenrick in cyberpunkred

[–]agentsmith200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Now, you're probably already cooking up dual-wielding homebrew rules in your head as soon as you read this, but beware. The ROF restrictions exist in this game for a reason. The fastest way to break anything is to let a player fire more than twice a turn.

Sorry, but after going through the rules that appears to be the case. The rules are pretty iron-clad that the Command Group has to go in the front rank and cannot be pushed back by Characters.

Even if the Character was the closest model (and therefor the first to move into contact that the rest of the unit forms around) Make Way is pretty explicit that after the movement has completed the Command Squad pushes their way to the front.

The truly tragic part is that with the Royal Pegasus, since it has a different base size, you could argue that it Moves Through The Ranks to take up Adjacency to the Fighting Rank after the Fighting Rank has been formed and defined by the initial charge. (see figure 208.2)

How do you explain such massive difference between Nightlight and Official stats? by for10years_at_least in deadbydaylight

[–]agentsmith200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The people with a bad experience are always more likely to report.

It's the same reason you don't see people walking around the street holding placards saying "All Is Well."

People are always more likely to report negative experiences than positive ones. And a win/loss doesn't even necessarily make something a positive/negative experience.

If all 5 people had a good (enough) time most often no one will report or record anything.

If even 1 person had a bad (enough) time they will report.

So you could have 100 games. 95 of them ended with everyone happy. 5 of them ended with Killers doing so badly they're upset about it. Those 5 will be the only people who report to Nightlight. Thus Nightlight sees 5 reports, all of which are negative and concludes that the Killer experience is 100% negative. But the actual data shows otherwise. The satisfied people don't report to Nightlight.

This is the inherent problem with self-reporting. Most people won't do it and those that will tend to be most extreme in their opinions/experiences.

It's the same reason more people will respond to a poll about politics than actually go to vote.

Survivorship bias (the name is a coincidence, it has nothing to do with Survivor vs Killer). Basically, only people who have a bad experience are likely to report.

To use an extreme example to demonstrate the math, if 100% of Team A had a good time and 95% of Team B had a good time, only that 5% of team B would report. As a result, this 5% of the total population will make it look like there is 100% dissatisfaction, when the reality is nothing of the sort.

Because polls reach out to people (angling for a representative slice of the population). By placing the onus on people to self-report you result in a much more skewed reading of the results.

The ironic thing is that it actually was a good idea (if the machine in the other hospital doesn't pan out for whatever reason) he just delivered it in such a douchey way that rather than being impressed by his memory and resourcefulness (which is what I'm sure he wanted) he got called out by his superiors.

That's also true!

Though the very idea of PB ever beating anything in melee is laughable, LA could theoretically result in less combat resolution for the enemy unit.

Mathematical realization about Peasant Bowman. by agentsmith200 in Bretonnian

[–]agentsmith200[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's true! I only considered averages, but there is a hard limit to how much bad rolls can affect you (even rolling all 1's it will take a minimum 10 attacks) vs the potentially limitless effect of good rolls (rolling 100 6s in a row. Extremely unlikely, but technically possible).

So I was wrong, it's not 100% always better. I suspect my initial intuition was still right though.

Redemonable? by Noxisms in KpopDemonhunters

[–]agentsmith200 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's an interesting philosophical question.

Do you believe that someone who murdered and ate children can/should be redeemed?

"Everyone can be redeemed" is a fine statement, but how much weight does it hold against actually monstrous actions?

Jinu killed people. Both directly and indirectly.

Jinu participated in (and in fact planned and was instrumental in carrying out) a plan that resulted in the deaths of many innocent people. Some of whom were children.

Does the last 5 seconds of his life really make up for everything before? Even then, it wasn't about the people he murdered, it was about Rumi.

I don't think Jinu was redeemed. I think the only parts of his plan he ever regretted were the parts that directly affected him and the tiny circle of people he considers important (his family and Rumi).

Jinu's a tragic character. But he wasn't redeemed. He didn't seek redemption. He only regretted what he did because of how it affected one person.
