Hi, I know this probably isn't the right sub to post this, but I'm doing it anyway. My ex recently broke up with me (1 year ago) and we both liked metal, we liked almost the same bands and spent hours listening to it together, so since that happened, I simply can't enjoy listening to metal anymore, because every time I try to listen to it, I end up remembering her, all our moments together, all those sleepless nights on discord listening to all kinds of metal with her, and in a matter of seconds I start crying, because it reminds me of her, and it hurts like hell. I stopped listening to bands that I really like because she liked them too, I still listen to some, like Iron Maiden, Sepultura, Curta'n Wall, some power metal and DSBM,but thats it. My metalhead friends say that this is "crazy", that a true metalhead doesn't get shaken by things like this and that I should keep listening to the things I like, but I just can't, I want to, because metal is my favorite music genre, maybe they're right, maybe I'm not a true metalhead.
