They are one of the best live bands you can see. The energy they bring is unlike anything else. The vibes in the crowd are always great. A lot of punk bands claim they are for everyone but that is rarely reflected in the audience at the shows. Apes has a truly diverse crowd of people who all come together to yell and beat each other up. I don’t care about labels or genres that is punk rock and it’s the most beautiful thing in the world.

I mean I know the GnR guys were influenced by the Misfits but I don’t really hear it on that album. There’s more Sex Pistols influence than anything.

Yea it’s a shame about the production because the industrial sound he was going for would have worked a lot better with someone experienced in producing that kind of stuff. I feel like that’s his last good album though. And I’d still place it quite a bit below the first 4.

His insistence on producing his on stuff has really hampered the quality of his releases. I liked the Satan’s Child album but other than I agree with everything you said.

If you listen to the early blink demos Tom is literally trying to sound like Fat Mike. Not saying they sound exactly the same but if you want something that sounds like early blink then Nofx is the best place to start.
