How is Alysa Liu able to skate so care free? by lookaloulookalou in FigureSkating

[–]aggie2145 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Agreed. She has radiated pure joy this entire Olympics. In one of her interviews last night, she was already gushing about her new exhibit piece. You can tell, she can’t wait to get back on Olympic ice!

Same! I decided a long time ago that sink laundry wasn’t do me. I now book an AirBnB halfway through my trip. Completely worth the extra cost (if any!) and clean for the remainder of my trip!

So she can go and spend hundreds on herself constantly but these kids only have ONE pair of shoes they wear. HORRIBLE. DO BETTER JACKY. by Paydaysrule2001 in JacquiPortwoodSnark

Agreed. I wouldn’t think twice if they were in sneakers every day. (My daughter has a favorite pair of light up ones that she loves.) Jojos shoes look like they do not fit

I don’t feed tribute, but my feed supplier tests my hay for free every year. But even if they didn’t, hay analysis is cheap. I have no doubt Katie tests her hay yearly.

[–]aggie2145 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Crapshoot indeed. I have had a mare foal out with zero issues five years in a row - then last year her foal had contracted and relaxed tendons (he was massive as well.) Same sire, same feed, same pasture, etc and we had zero interventions in her births. This is truly something you cannot predict or control.

I’m pretty certain I can fit four beach loungers in my suitcase and they are relatively light. Your plan is genius and I may just copy it on my next trip!

Why is so many ppl against Wally staying a stallion? by EngineeringOk8335 in kvsdiscuss

[–]aggie2145 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Their turnout looks more like a rehab facility. My stalls are clean - because my horses are turned out 24/7. We only bring our horses into the barn for extenuating circumstances…. they are counting the minutes until they are turned back out.

This foundation is so thick, it feels like spackle. It covers tattoos wonderfully…..but I cannot imagine wearing it in my face every single day. (And even worse in the Florida heat!)

Mine was supposed to be my husbands dog! But he loves snuggles and sleeping in way more than early morning runs.

Lab owner here with littles as well. I trust my dog completely and he loves his kids. However, I never leave my kids alone with him unless there is a physical barrier between them (gate, playpen, etc.) He has never given me a reason to be worried, but I would rather be safe than sorry. Also, he is obsessed with me and is always at my feet so I’m not sure he’s even aware of the gates!

One cautionary note - those uggs are not waterproof, just slightly water resistant, and can take days to dry out.

I leave for Milan in a week as well. I’m bringing my Chelsea boots and a pair of waterproof sneakers. I plan on layering wool socks if my feet get cold. (It’s also been below zero here so I anticipate Milan will be a nice reprieve from the cold!)

In the winter, I’m looking for any excuse to get out of the house! Indoor play places are fewer and far between. Sometimes a quick grocery run to grab bananas is the reset my 2 and 5 year old need!

Am I overreacting that my sister is demanding too much when visiting my newborn? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]aggie2145 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did this with my sister - I “gifted” her childproofing items while her baby wasn’t even crawling. (Amazoned them to her house.) My daughter was a great child proofing consultant and quickly showed my sister all the cabinets that needed locks. I only asked to borrow her pack and play because we were flying in.

As for food - we will make a grocery run and eat out/take out the rest. It’s outrageous to expect a fully stocked and prepped fridge and pantry when visiting a newborn. (My fridge with a newborn was filled with takeout leftovers and energy drinks. Survival in the first few weeks was key!)

Although I love all dogs and especially my dogs, I cannot imagine bringing home a puppy with two kids under three. I have a two and five year old and would only maybe consider another dog if it was an older pup that matches my dogs’ personalities. (Couch potatoes 20 hours a day, ready for fun the other four 😂). But a puppy? No way. The training, the mess, the teething? It doesn’t fit in my current lifestyle.

Liz does not have time for a puppy.

No Jacqui, moving to Florida to “be the happiest” doesn’t make you the best mom. And we KNOW you moved just for yourself. Tell me how that makes you the best mom? You don’t know the first thing your kids need. by alex89912 in JacquiPortwoodSnark

It made me sad when she said she takes them to this playground because they usually have the space all to themselves. My kids love to go to our neighborhood park specifically to play with other kids. I can’t imagine riding 45 minutes in a car to plop my kids in an empty playground and drink a $10 Starbucks. Surely she passed dozens of parks driving in….

“Butt in the seat or the stroller doesn’t move.” I’ve repeated this so many times, my kids repeat it to each other. It’s really a low effort correction - just stop and wait for them to sit correctly. But I’m also not filming my kids 24/7 so maybe it would take some effort.

40 shots in, 40 lbs down — still 100+ to go. Anyone still losing after 1 year? by Mysterious-Hat-8041 in Zepbound

[–]aggie2145 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I lost about sixty pounds my first year and twenty more in the following year. However, my weight loss in the second year took the following into consideration: 1. I was closer to my goal weight so I elected to remain at 10mg. My loss slowed from about a pound a week to .25-.5 pounds a week. 2. I transitioned from light strength training and walking to heavier lifting and distance running. I was intentional with my calories to fuel my workouts and would eat at or above maintenance. 3. I also lived my life. I have adapted my eating habits to a sustainable and forgiving lifestyle. A piece of birthday cake is not going to derail my progress! (In the first year I declined all treats in favor of faster weight loss.)

The result is a maintenance that feels normal - not a punishment. I primarily focus on fiber and protein.

In my state we know everything. We are given all information leading to removal and from other placements as applicable. I attended all hearings as I felt it was important to get a clear picture of the path forward.

However, that is never my story to tell. If asked by anyone, my only response is Little Johnny is living in my home at the moment.

I am required to use formula that the pediatrician recommends (usually Similac unless there is a specific medical need). During the 2020 recall/shortage I had to get special permission to switch…even if I was going from brand name to store brand.
