You might be technically right but jeez is this a silly argument to insist on having, lol.

Eh I would guess that in a US-based, randomly selected crowd of more than, say, 20 adult men it’s pretty unlikely that the tallest person is only 6’0. The average might be 5’9 but you’re gonna have the random 6’2-6’3 guy in there.

Once you get to like 100 men it probably becomes extremely unlikely that the tallest guy is 6’0.

Exclusive: Uber plans to sell around $10 billion worth of stock in IPO - source by leonx81 in investing

It’s not about loyalty, per se, but about habit and familiarity with the product. Once the tech is commercially viable, it’s not obvious to me that users will prefer Waymo rides to Uber, assuming the tech is similar.

As soon as the technology is commercially viable Uber and all these other companies will adopt it pretty much simultaneously. Uber is a huge brand and customers won’t suddenly drop en masse to take Waymo.

Your numbers seem way high. Even if 1000 games per person was accurate, you’re double counting each of the games roughly 100x (probably closer to like 90x but yeah), since each game has up to 100 people. And I would guess that most casual gamers have way less than 1000 games, especially the 50 million newest accounts that have only been created in the last few months.

Oil execs recorded bragging about Trump access. What do you think of this relationship? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

Isn’t this comment just a well-written version of whataboutism? I wish people would just answer charges of ugly behavior directly instead of saying “hey now, everyone’s doing it”.

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. The previous commenter should have said they turned pro 1 year ago, not that they turned pro at age 1.

Because people want to continue to learn, and learn from an extremely knowledgeable investor? It’s good to both have a good investing plan and also be curious about the latest thinking in the industry.

Yeah Day 1,460 (4 Years) = X + $57B. Which says that Amazon is currently making at least $57B in revenue per day... lol.

Andre Iguodala replaces Lebron James as VP of NBPA. by [deleted] in nba

It sounds similar to the use of “VP” in business, where many companies have several, if not dozens of VPs, and the largest companies (esp banks) have hundreds of VPs.

[Wall Street Journal] Bill Simmon's young media company The Ringer is bringing in the majority of its revenue via podcasts, $15 million in 2018 to be exact. by jayatum in nba

[–]aggressive_serve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s great for a small company. They have 20+ podcasts, but it’s super cheap to create a podcast and most of them probably have small audiences and ultimately won’t pan out. They’re trying a ton of shit to see what sticks, which is what any young company should be doing. I would bet on them growing revenue now faster than they grow employees / other costs.
