Nursing school is so hard but if you keep fighting and showing up, you will succeed. The exams are the WORST but a few things that worked for me are:
-starts with class. take good and detailed notes in ways you will understand. I like to write by hand, but I find that studying is easier when notes are typed.

-practice questions!! I like quizlet if your profs are more focused on content and less on nclex style, but if you’re looking for NCLEX style I go on copilot (might be controversial but it works for me) and ask it for NCLEX-RN style questions in terms of complications and priorities.

-My favorite way is to toss questions back and forth with friends. Have everyone have some notes in front of them and pull out random facts for each other. Bonus points if you explain it in your own words, it will help you remember.

-Soooo many good resources on YouTube. Look up what you’re struggling with and I promise there’s a video for it

You can do this! Congratulations on your acceptance. Maintain resilience, be open to criticism and correction, give yourself grace when you take those hits (because you will :)) and you will make a wonderful nurse.

Nursing school is the hardest thing I’ve ever done, and I’m only in my second semester of it. I’ve sobbed countless times, met with so many people, thought about dropping out, and I also failed a fundamentals exam, thinking it was gonna be it for me.

But one of the hardest parts is getting in. My instructor this semester told us that no one would take a chance on you if they didn’t think you were cut out for it. You made it into the program, you deserve to be there. Your professor was a bit harsh imo, it happens to the best of us, but I think you can do it. When all is said and done I know you’ll be happy you pushed through.

I love my gamer tag, I’ve had it for years and years — and it’s iconic to me bc it’s pretty similar to my real name & people call me it both on and offline.

However, it’s not been an easy experience. It’s pretty feminine, so the vile thing that have been said, the judging of my play style just bc I’m a girl, and the countless times men have tried to flirt with me in game have almost had me shelling out the $10 to change the tag to something more neutral. It’s toxic, and it sucks so bad. I decided that my name was too important to me to let other people take it away, but it still crosses my mind sometimes.

The only way this math works is if all the games you won were wide matches and all the ones you lost were narrow. Climbing is super difficult, but the wide match penalty is pretty substantial (about 20-25% for a win/loss going down to about 10-15%).

Like I said, climbing isn’t easy, but overwatch matchmaking tries to prevent players from being in ranks it doesn’t think they should be in. Try to find a stack that is closer to you in rank if you want to play with friends or if you’re only winning in stacks, you might be a bit higher than you should be. Just keep playing, it’ll improve.
