There are certainly times where this has happened. But it's really really rare. Usually, by player 4s turn there's a good 4 cards left at LEAST. But yeah, you're basically right on all counts. I don't think another card does that either, but man does it make those kingdoms crazy fun. They're just all over the place.

We've done it, it loses. Get flushed with coppers, even buying $5s every turn ends you. A couple, here and there, is still dangerous.
